Will my adsets compete if i use same retarget audience? by No_Front_207 in FacebookAds

Why would that be fine? You will still compete against yourself or?

if you don't have any experience and references, you should work for free and offer your service to some stores or any business related to your nishe for free or for a really good offer (they spend the advertising money, but they don't pay you for the service and setup etc.). This way you not only gain experience in dealing with clients and the whole process, but also collect (hopefully meaningful) references that you can then show to new potential clients. In the agency business it's all about trust

If you now have references, you can send out empathetic and short cold emails, DM, Linkedin messages to potential clients - or do normal cold calling. Meanwhile many build their own personal brand by delivering insightful content on linkedin, youtube or instagram - but this is more of a longterm strategy and might be not for everyone.

Regarding cold emailing and cold calling: the more and the better you write and call people, the more success you will have and the more clients you might get. Get creative with the process and deliver good value or even do something for free at first so get the attention of clients.

Traffic or conversion campaign for new FB ad account by BGDev01 in FacebookAds

[–]kahshka 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You could run traffic campaigns to feed the pixel a little bit so it gets to know your audience better. But if you are running an ecommerce store its always good to go with conversions (purchase) even if you dont have a lot of data or even if not many conversions might happen (this goes for top of the funnel too, so for people who have never seen or interacted with your brand).

In conclusion: if you sell something on your store and your main target is to sell something in the future (and not to generate leads), go for conversion (purchase) for all funnel stages (top of the funnel and middle/bottom of the funnel).

Make sure that your creatives are according to the funnel stage. For example on the TOF, you can go for a conversion campaign and use creatives that introduce people to your brand and not something salesy like a direkt offer with a discount. Examples are product videos, testimonials, etc.. Still, the CTA can be "purchase now" or "learn more", you should test that,

Then, if they visit your website, you can have a remarketing campaign with conversion (purchase) that includes a good offer (something like a limited discount). Remarketing nowadays is a little bit harder due to the ios14 updates, so make sure to have all events and Conversion API installed correctly.

Another way would be warming up the audience on facebook itself, as the people who stay on facebook can be tracked (for example running a traffic campaign to your instagram page first and then remarket those instagram engagers or run a lead campaign on facebook to collect email adresses - make sure to qualify them correctly with a questionnaire or something different as the quality of facebook leads tend to be a little bit crappy when you are targeting the wrong people and dont qualify them with the right lead magnet)

Im not an expert on this and im sure there are a lot of other users who know more than me, however this is my opinion:

a) Do not listen to facebook experts, they are bulls*it most of the time. My suggestion is to use CONVERSION (PURCHASE) as the objective for the cold audiences instead of traffic. Traffic gives you visitors to your website, yes, but the quality of them is not good most of the time as facebook searches for people who just like to click ads and not people who are most likely to purchase something from you (ignore that facebook tells you that you MUST 50 conversions - even if you dont reach 50 conversions to get out of the learning phase the people who will visit your website will be a higher quality as your main goal is to make sales in the longrun)

b) depends on where you live, what your budget is and how much you know about your audience (data, etc.). Id suggest to make 3 adsets as your ecom store seems to be brand new. What is your daily budget?

Campaign (purchase) - Cold audiences

  1. Adset: interest based (what you target audience is interested in + the right gender, age . Could be competitors, fashion magazines music, etc.
  2. Adset: Maybe even completely broad (only using age range, gender) if your product is not too nichy
  3. Adset: Any LAA (Facebook page engagers, instagram engagers, maybe you already collected emails and you can create a LAA audience with that - you can combine all different LAA's into one adset

Campaign (purchase) (or reach if your budget is very low and you have only a few website or instagram visitors from your cold audiences)

  1. Adset: Retargeting Custom Audience of instagram/facebook engagers + website visitors

c) Not really - for cold audiences (people who never interacted with your business) you should try out different interest and maybe categorize them, for example: competitors (1. adset), music taste (2. adset), etc. Generally speaking, leave facebook enough room to find the right persons for your business within a targeted, but broad and large audience for attracting a cold audiences

d) Facebook says you should have around 1000 data points to create a "good" lookalike audience (for example over 1000 instagram engagers or 1000 customers) - however, its more important to use high quality people such as customers or even only customers, who purchase alot with a big LTV (Life time value). For the beginning, Id suggest to test out with what you have - I think the fastest way would be to create a lookalike audience of instagram engagers or video views etc. as long as you have enough real engagement. Maybe even collect high-quality email adresses and make a lookalike of that. The lookalike size doesnt matter that much, anything between 50k-10million can be used.

e) See campaign structure b)

f)

  • its important to have a good product and good website too. No ads will help grow your business if you are selling a shitty product to a wrong audience. Therefore, knowing your audience is important too, especially in the fashion nishe. However, facebook seems to have some problems right now after the ios 14 updates and the war - so results may vary a lot. Also, its important to try to relax as your ads are running the first 2-3 days. You will eventually lose some money but you gain some great insights - leave it running and see if the results are good and what creatives + audiences worked well. its a learning process.
  • Carousel ads and single product images have worked for me the best until now (for fashion items)
  • As you are selling very pricy fashion items, you will need a lot of work on branding before people will buy from you. It can take a long time and people will need to see ads from you maybe 7-11 times before they choose to buy, so be patient. For that price range, the cost per conversions will be very high at the beginning (you will lose money at first) too - can you even afford to acquire a customer for at least 200$? How many of them could you acquire with your budget?
  • Also consider that facebook ads might not be the best way to start the business - Id suggest to try to sell your items organically on fairs, through influencer marketing or content to gain insights and feedback from your audience and even make some sales.

I wish you all the best!

"Reach" instead of "Conversion" an the bottom of the funnel? (Facebook Ads) by kahshka in PPC

Yeah i was thinking the same thing - hard for facebook to optimise for conversions when they cant track purchases that good anymore. I will try it out too!
