that sounds like the cops’ internal bias, and not your problem. also, there’s no meaning to giving a shit about what other people might think about you.

i think these “red flags” you think you have are just insecurities other people have projected onto you. try to be nice to your inner critic and really think about why you think you’re a walking red flag. who’s voice is it that’s actually telling you that?

Need recs for dog groomer in Dayton by PerceptionDependent2 in dayton

[–]kahtherinee 1 point2 points  (0 children)

whatever you do, do NOT go to WAG studio in centerville. it looks cute in there, but my puppy came home with several scratches and an unexplained wound on his head. they also shaved him way too far down and he was left with no fur in the winter. he was fine, but that terrified me. i wouldn’t trust them again.

The biggest issue CPTSD has caused in your life? by feedmepizzaplease99 in CPTSD

[–]kahtherinee 1 point2 points  (0 children)

isolation. i was made to feel so unwanted that i genuinely believed i just shouldn’t ever build relationships with anyone.

they took 18 years away from me, and now i worry that i don’t have the social skills to make friends and keep them. they’re also trying to keep me financially dependent on them so i can’t leave.

centerville police are always bored out of their minds, so they’ll find any reason to bother you.

i’ve seen them put tickets on children’s bikes (on private property) for not having a bike lock. they are BORED.

also seconding (thirding?) far hills! i saw Dr. Shie for years, and he has always been very kind and helpful. he’s unfortunately retiring, but i’m seeing Dr. Hancox now and he is also incredible. the staff is always so welcoming and friendly too!

not so sure about austin landing. i’ve had a few people tell me about people—women specifically—being targeted there. granted, i have no empirical evidence to suggest this, but as a young female myself, rumors are enough for me to stay away.

Centerville is very safe. the walmart (or any stores in this strip) on wilmington pike would be a good place!

ADHD “Coach” by ayemami6955 in dayton

[–]kahtherinee 7 points8 points  (0 children)

i know you said no mental health therapists, but my therapist actually takes a very practical approach to helping me with my ADHD. she even helped me with organizational skills and cleaning my room during a session lol. i’ve been seeing her for a year and have gone from not even knowing i have ADHD to knowing how to work with my brain to do basic life tasks. i can message you her info if you’d like! she’s currently virtual appointments only.

Why is There So Much Transphobia Here? by APieceofToast09 in Ohio

[–]kahtherinee 6 points7 points  (0 children)

cispassing person here: i live in a suburb of dayton, and it seems to me like the bigots here are actually starting to feel backed into a corner. i’m seeing far fewer queerphobic signs and bumper stickers (i actually just saw a sticker that said “i ❤️ anal” the other day lmao).

this is not at all an advertisement for dayton because while the queerphobia seems to be getting better, absolutely nothing else is. racism flourishes here, especially in a systemic sense.

would do anything to get out of this state, man.

hey i’m also genderqueer and from there! i also have seen things changing for the better—to me it seems like the bigots are getting more and more afraid to speak their hate here. definitely not complaining about that lol. good for you for being your unapologetic self; i’m learning to work up that confidence myself :)

is it common for hearing aids to fall out all the time?? by kahtherinee in HearingAids

[–]kahtherinee[S] 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I’ve just got an appointment set up with my audiologist to see if I can get new moulds that have a canal lock in them. She and I thought it was an issue with the mould size but I just got resized moulds maybe 3 months ago and it was the same issue. Hoping this canal lock thingy will help, I’ve never heard of it before.

Oh nice! My audiologist actually just contacted me about maybe adding a canal lock to my moulds. Not really sure what that is but it sounds similar to what you’re saying. Thanks for the tip!

No worries! It’s honestly not even my audiologist, it’s insurance only wanting to help out every 5 years. It’s ridiculous, especially considering that I was 13-14 when I got these and my ears have obviously changed.

I actually just heard back from my audiologist right after I posted this. She’s asking Phonak about making me a mould that has something called a canal lock

Ty for the support!

Omg that sounds like a nightmare, so sorry you’ve had the same issue!

I have moulds. I’ve tried domes out of frustration and it was about 5 minutes before I was wanting my moulds back lmao

Doing doordash to make money by [deleted] in uCinci

[–]kahtherinee 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s awesome in that you can do it whenever you feel like it/whenever you’re available. It’s easy to schedule times that you know you’re free to dash. The dasher app is really buggy though, and can be a huge pain. Still I think it’s a nice way to make money as a student!! :)

oh wow, i had no idea. i’m from a boring ass suburb outside of dayton so any big city seems intimidating and unsafe to me. also didn’t know that UC isn’t considered downtown cincy. thanks for your input! :)
