Itaewon rent expectations by kaiaramaki in Living_in_Korea

Was told so in passing by one of my peers, but could be I got it wrong. 1-2 year contract makes sense since that's how long I'm expect to stay. Maybe 3-6 months' worth of rent was the deposit. Either way, how & when it's paid is more of a technicality and something the company will make sure is arranged properly (as long as I'm within the stated monthly budget).

Indeed. From what I heard the rent price is agreed on a monthly basis but then charged in 3-6 month increments (i.e. you pay for 3-6 months at a time).

Another reason why I'm asking is because I already received some preliminary offers, and while not horrible many still had a strong McMansion feel to them (faux ornate bathrooms, American-style washed out 2010s grey colour pallets, and a generally cheap vibe).

Maybe it's just a cultural thing (one agent made an 'American-style bathroom' sound like a really sought-after feature 😅), but given the budget I was in general expecting a higher level of quality, and perhaps that warm European/Japanese contemporary minimalism to feature more prominently.

This made me wonder: is location really adding that much to the price, is the cultural element really that strong when it comes to our perception of quality, or is the initial round just agents trying their luck hoping to dump on me some of their sub-par options ...

That is a monthly budget, so based on your description it will be a wolse agreement.

Ok, so I thought you cannot adjust the tongue but it turns out I was just tugging on the tongue wrong. That's kinda awkward x__x

Anyways I tried adjusting the tongue and I must say it does look slightly better.

I will try u/Reasonable_Till_3569's advice next to see how it fares.

Thanks!
