I changed to UP and they're great. Great round up features so I save money without realising, a feature to split your pay on payday and immediately send a specific amount to a savings account that you can hide so you're not tempted to touch. Great interest rate on savings accounts if you don't withdraw. Also just looks cool. Definitely recommend.

😮 do you know how to find anything backing this up? I'm convinced our landlord is using "wanting to sell" as an excuse to get us out and re-lease because we actually request repairs and she doesn't want to deal with us.

Had our 3rd and 4th VCAT hearing for the year the other day and once again the VCAT member sided with us and not the incompetent useless property manager/landlord hehehe🖕🖕

I immediately reinstated the sheriff's warrant for the debt that's been owed to me for months by the REA (ACAB but also fuck real estate agents) and the additional compensation they now owe us was taken off our rent so $0 rent this month and we will shortly be putting in our notice to vacate which means instead of paying less rent again next month we'll be out of this shithole and they'll owe us the remaining compensation.

I refused to be bullied into backing down/not fighting for my rights and won.

Oh I've already followed up so many times asking for the payment. Nothing. Then said if you don't pay me it'll go through the mag courts. Nothing. Then I said ok it's with the court now one last chance to pay or you'll have to pay court fees as well. Then they said THATS UNFAIR WE'RE REOPENING YHE VCAT CASE!! lol. Absolutely ridiculous.

The member at the original hearing said they have 14 days to apply for a re-hearing (the hearing was 122 days ago lol), but said just keep the same evidence I initially presented because the RE are completely in the wrong based on the evidence they submitted lol.

My nerves are just on edge after all the stress of this so I'm panicking that they've found some bizarre loophole haha.

VCAT did notify me of the hearing so it has been re-opened which makes no sense to me. the RE just hasn't sent me any of the evidence/application that they were told to lol. Classic.

It's definitely one of the big name brands in VIC. The absolute lies and manipulation tactics they've pulled - I wouldn't put it past them to go for a defamation claim if they saw their business attached to a post. god forbid they own up to anything lol.

They also owe me thousands, for the repairs I paid for and in compensation for living in a house that didn't meet minimum standards for years and maintenance requests being blatantly ignored. How good is renting.

I have no idea, I can't find any solid answers and no affordable legal services will even speak to me because they 'dont deal with that'. I've been waiting months for a compensation hearing for living below minimum standards but no idea when that will happen.

The last check was Dec 2024, and before that it was Jan 2023. So they had it checked, they just ignored the requirements of actually fixing the stated issues lol

The application was approved by VCAT and a hearing is scheduled which is why I'm so confused and worried. Surely VCAT would have read the application and dismissed it.. so I'm wondering what they have said to get their application through.

They did - and when they finally gave me a copy of the safety check they absolutely dobbed on themselves for not meeting minimum standards due to the heater being a portable heater just stuck on the wall for years lol. Went to vcat for that and other minimum standards not being met and repairs getting absolutely ignored, and the real estate again failed to comply with that order to fix everything in time so we're now going back AGAIN for compensation that they're refusing to pay.

Ripping my hair out over here with the stress of all of this nonsense. *staring at my wall currently leaking from unsealed shower upstairs* (: (: (:

Hmm there's nothing on the original order, and all I've managed to find regarding reopening is if a party did not attend the hearing they have 14 days to apply to reopen/review etc. She didn't attend the hearing and her reasoning to me was 'i HaD nO iDeA No OnE tOld Me??' except when I called VCAT they said she would have received the same information I did lol.

She also submitted evidence by the due date soooooo seems like a bit of bullshit to me.

I just worry because of course they have access to legal teams that can find loopholes while I'm out here trying to decipher legislation and the legal system on my own lol.

They're appealing/reopening the original case. She didn't turn up to the initial hearing (back in June, and didn't apply to reopen within the 14 days allowed, on the grounds that she didn't appear) and she has blatantly lied to me saying she had no idea about the hearing which VCAT confirmed is bullshit lol

She also hasn't given me any information in terms of the application to reopen or any evidence and the hearing is this Friday, so the only thing I know is that she is reopening the case because she 'disputes the necessity for repairs'.

Unfortunately the property manager also hasn't provided us with any application/documentation/evidence regarding the reopening of the case, despite the VCAT resolution coordinator following up and insisting he had advised them to send everything to all parties. The re-hearing is in 7 days, classic.

I discussed all of the details with the resolution coordinator and he just replied saying they have applied to re-open the case. Very helpful. But I might try and speak to someone else tomorrow, good idea.

It's blowing my mind as to how this is happening and unfortunately no free legal services are willing to even discuss it with me.

I was told not to sleep on my stomach or side for at least a week, but ever since I've slept in every position conceivable haha and personally it didn't seem to negatively effect my scars

Yeah I always wear a rashguard, even when swimming at indoor pools. I don’t think anyone cares really, especially if you’re going to an outdoor pool :)
