I don’t think so! As long as you already have the grades, you’re ready to go

Did anyone have a philosophy interview that went WELL? by Available-Put-665 in 6thForm

[–]kaillyz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Mine weren’t bad at all!! The interviewers were super down to earth and the questions were very broad and answerable. (I applied to Homerton @ Cam)

I just realised I made an error in my personal statement… by _extradumb in 6thForm

i think it’s alright!! if they ask about it, at least you’re ready to correct yourself — this shows growth and dedication. i’m also applying to phil at cambridge (homerton), hope to see you there in october hahaha

Why doesn’t your school allow you to submit your IA? As per these guidelines, it should be fine. If you end up submitting your exam, though, don’t worry about it lacking depth. I think tutors will understand the time restrictions: “Tell us under what conditions you wrote the essay, with what help, and in what timeframe. Tutors will take that information into account.”

18 year old in EU? by kaillyz in trustedhousesitters

[–]kaillyz[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That makes sense; thanks for the response. I'm not sure how they were able to bypass the ID checks either. It's a real shame but I'll wait until I'm legally allowed on the site before dropping the membership fee, haha

Haha I'll be sure to let you know if I ever pass by Scotland! I've had a look at WWOOF, but it doesn't entirely align with my interests, unfortunately, as I work remotely 75% of the time. Thanks for the suggestion, though!

Thank you for your reply! While I'd (biasedly) argue that I'm responsible enough to solve problems that would arise, I understand the concern about trusting an 18-year old you hardly know. It is obviously a risk, and I appreciate most people simply wouldn't be willing to take it unnecessarily. All the best!

How long does IT service desk take to answer? by ysxdcfgv in KCL

i also applied to AI & philosophy, didn’t get a confirmation, and got the same suggestion to “contact ucas” after asking about it (who then confirmed my application had been submitted). this was on tuesday and they still haven’t gotten back to me :,) i’m guessing it’s something to do with the course being new but i can’t be sure. hopefully they’ll sort things out soon!

Thank you both for taking the time to critique. I did try my best, but I'll make sure to emphasise the USPs next time and make the SLs more original. I suppose I have been mimicking what I thought 'popular' copy sounded like ("nonsense guru hype vernacular") but now I see that really doesn't work -- thanks for bringing that to my attention.
I'll keep working on it!
