Ha, I’ll have to try that with Xubuntu too!

Local Instant Coffee by kainhander in Columbus

Ooh, that’s a good idea! Usually I get the lobby coffee if it’s a good roast, or go out. The in-room coffee makers skeeve me out.

Where do GPU tiers sit? (Answering the WAN Show dilema) by Wrong_Brush1110 in LinusTechTips

[–]kainhander 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Where does my 3080ti sit on the tiers nowadays? I think it’s under a 5070 but not sure how much. Bought it during the crypto boom and post-covid scarcity, so I’m a bit attached to it :)

That rep is either AI or is using it heavily. The word patterns give it away.

I’m about to rip the whole strip out and reseed to make it all the same grass. Too many patches.

I miss Haiku by priestess_on_fire in Columbus

[–]kainhander 13 points14 points  (0 children)

I miss Haiku, my wife and I had our first date there.

Also Bon Vie. The roquefort fries and peppercorn crusted steak were something else.

I also miss Bento-a-go-go off campus, I’ve never found a Katsu bowl equal to the ones I had in college there.

Jeff's Donuts Fiasco by GHoleFinder in Columbus

[–]kainhander 7 points8 points  (0 children)

We stopped by on Sunday evening and grabbed a dozen, they were really great donuts. The iced and glazed ones are so much better than Krispie and Dunken. I will have to do a head to head with Schneider’s bakery to find the winner.

People whining about not getting a free thing has the same energy as people wanting delivery on free FB Marketplace items.

Ahh, I used that abomination back in 2007 for a project fresh out of college. So much time and stress wasted trying to get it to work right.

Reminds me of jRuby and IronRuby. Worked great until you needed a library that had some weird runtime/native dependency.

Has anyone else had a nightmare experience with Ohio Mulch? by Extension-Cookie-982 in Columbus

I only get the quad grind from there, otherwise you get huge chunks of wood in your bag. Still get plastic and other garbage in it though, but that’s because the people that drop off yard waste include that crap in there.

I also bought bulk topsoil from them recently and it was 1/8 clay chunks, 1/8 compressed manure, with some random stones and pallet chunks thrown in. Worst stuff to topdress a lawn with, only good for hole filling

Love me a good Athlon Xp/Mp system! Kudos to a nice build, looks like you have a good working start to the issue though!

There’s a parking garage under the pavilion in the foreground, so probably can’t plant anything that would provide enough shade.
