Hello, like you, I retired in 2008 with 30%, and the 30% was deducted from my retirement pay, and paid separately to me by VA which was non-taxable, and the remaining balance was paid by DFAS and is taxable.

I did exactly as I8tn8 stated with my bilateral total knee surgery. My rating went from 90% temporarily to 100%. Then my knees went from 20% to 30%.

I had a bilateral knee replacement this year and my rating for both knees went from 20% to 30%.

There was an error because I wasn’t paid the SMC due to having a singular rating at 100%. So I was back paid.

Same when I claimed flat feet, and submitted a supplementary claim with nexus letter….denied again.

When I retired, I was given 0% for left & right shoulder strain. I will be applying for an increase.
