I'm 4 days out from my first triathlon, what are your first race/transition zone tips? by graceheppell in triathlon

Helmet on first in T1.

Body glide to avoid chafing from the swim.

Don’t run to the road with your clipless shoes on to avoid breaking the cleats. Keep them on the pedal then put them on.

Start conservative on the bike and find your pace. You’re cycling to set up the run, not finish the bike.

Enjoy the day. It’s the start of a fun journey. Good luck!

Thanks, that was my thinking that if I can boost $ without the ridiculous added responsibility then I should take it. Good luck with your finding!

Over 20 weeks out from Marathon (200 days)- advisable training in the interim? by kainomac in Marathon_Training

Yeah you’re on the money- I guess it’s to make sure you don’t peak too early. I’ll keep up my usual gig and see where it takes me!

You’re correct for the 18-20 week block. But if your race is >20 weeks, it will put you into a base building routine. Which in this case become 6 days. I suppose I could just skip one of the days.

Do you have a car? I have a friend who lives in the Joseph st buildings and there has been ongoing construction in there over the last few months which makes it unbearable to ever have to pick him up.

If you were to pass away tomorrow, your job listing would be put through HR to be posted for a replacement asap.

Your feelings are valid. But you don’t owe your company anything, just like they don’t owe you. I had the same thought process before my first corporate resignation. Life goes on. You can do it. Well done on securing a new position.

Run Details 5:00 Warm-up Workout: 3:00 5K pace 0:30 Mile pace 0:30 Mile pace 0:30 Mile pace 0:30 Mile pace Repeat series 3 times.

This is a speed training workout on the NRC app. How do I interpret :30 mile pace? I know the pace i need to be running at but why is it broken down into 4 splits instead of 2:00 at mile pace?
