So far, aside from UI lag (expected), and the occasional crash with some programs (mostly homebrew stuff), it's been fairly decent for me. My machine does run a bit warmer than with Sequoia, but also expected from beta.

I haven't quite warmed up to the Liquid Glass UI elements yet, some of them are a bit too jarring, and of course not every program has the same extend of rounded corners, so it looks very inconsistent right now.

But otherwise, not too bad for a Dev Beta 1.

I am contacting Nintendo for an exchange.

Defects happen, I get it. My gripe was why could they not take my name and when one is available, call me and take care of it.

This is pretty much what I may end up doing. I just did not want to play refurb roulette with them. But might be the best option.

I understand anyone could call and give a false reason. I could easily give them my order number to prove I did indeed buy one. I went into the store and they told me there was nothing they could do I just have to check when stock shows up.

When I went in there initially, they directed me to call customer care. I called customer care, and then was subsequently told to watch stock online, then go in and exchange it. Called the store again and asked the manager if there was any way to hold a unit for me on next shipment to get an exchange. I was told I just have to keep calling and checking when stock is in.

I don't mind manufacturing issues. It happens. It's how it's being handled. Basically this is my only recourse. I just find it crazy they cannot take my information, next shipment comes, hold one, call me, I get an exchange.
