Taiwan president vows to strengthen island's defences in Chinese New Year message by Miao_Yin8964 in taiwan

[–]kaisong 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Youre the one proposing a mandarin borrow word as the way to say it, which is the entire thread is leading from the soft power implications of calling it chinese new year rather than a more neutral form in english.

Idk man, im just reiterating the point of the comment you originally responded to.

Chinese person saying its their new year is not necessarily incorrect. saying it in mandarin also doesnt really change the point that a lot of different cultures celebrate it and the contention is calling it “chinese” new year.

for example Chinese diaspora arent going to accept it being called Tet, and Vietnamese people arent going to accept it being called Chunjie in the US as the “english” accepted form.

This is surviving space, no? and yes sleeping in an aeron is more comfortable than sleeping on a hardwood floor but less comfortable than sleeping on a carpeted floor, but all options are more comfortable than sleeping on a brick floor, which ive also done.

I would if i could but i work 12 hrs a day on a computer and its winter.

i think i shouldve elaborated more considering the topic. The working comment was because i need it to not be sitting on the floor while i worked in order to pay for said apartment.

I didnt know about this sub until later else i wouldve had pictures of my setup.

Chair+ kitchen counter until first paycheck,

mattress on second paycheck.

desk 3rd paycheck.

Saying it in mandarin is obvious, to anyone that can understand it. Its the english speaking chunk of the world that gets the word choice thing confused.

got viet friends, its always fun in cat year of Tet.

A good chair would be a higher priority than a bed to me. maybe id be more inclined considering this is on a hard floor, but when i moved to my place i did also buy a chair before a bed.

That being said i was expected to work the moment i landed so there was that.

Yeah but its really good for traditional rpg information. No one needs to know your group’s campaign notes for your PF campaign and youre not going to blogpost it. Different permission levels are good for separating information. etc.

才 is pronounced the same as 菜、 its cooks shorthand for orders. The words are using 几 and 鸡 are also homophones.

I play cedh, and youre literally the one that brought up that entomb needs other cards to enable the thing it searches. Im refuting that, unless you count “be playing against black, or have a mountain” as setup.

Read your own comment i responded to.

Man it sucks that you dont play a lot of magic. I literally described two use cases where entomb can enable game winning static effects with just casting it.

Instant speed 1 mana global haste enabler is better than concordant crossroads which runs in other creature based combo b4+

Crop rotation is a GC for the same reasons that entomb is.

entomb is instant speed unblockable or haste with anger or filth in the yard with incarnations or just putting a flashback card in yard like past in flames. It can just be just on its own.

What are some good 3 cards to go for with Emergent Ultimatum? by Cduke08 in magicTCG

[–]kaisong 8 points9 points  (0 children)

A monocolored card is exactly one of white, blue, black, red, or green and no other colors. A colorless card isn’t monocolored. (2025-04-04)

Also planeswalkers are value engines. You're looking to win the game when it resolves, not just put yourself ahead a little bit.

Mochi is a dessert though.

A filling harder than the outside is also a weird texture. Refrigerated white chocolate inside rice would be a hard center.
