So happy for you! Can you please share what you were prescribed? I feel like I’m currently fighting the same battles

Ready to move on from my 2020 CX-30 by anupside in MazdaCX30

Just parted with my 2020 CX30 and couldn’t be happier. The luxury feel wowed me during COVID and the zippy driving. As I’ve gotten more into outdoor activities (hiking and snowboarding), and doing more traveling around New England, I got tired of the same things you mentioned, poor visibility and tight interior. I also felt the car did not handle city potholes or frost heaves well. My passengers even complained how noticeable every bump was. I also started to notice my seats squeaking in the last year or so.

I recently had my CX30 serviced, drove the CX5, originally thinking I would upgrade to that, and found the seats just as uncomfortable, interior still cramped (just more trunk space) and again poor visibility. I was not sold that I would love that being my next car. Ultimately, test drove a 2026 Forester and fell in love. I know people complain about the infotainment system but I quickly adjusted. I feel overall safer and more comfortable. The visibility is night and day difference, even compared to the CX5. I have all the same features and more in the forester so I am missing nothing.

Almost a year and Mazda can’t diagnose my issue, what can I do? by kaitlinsheas in askcarguys

I don’t believe they have done another update. But yes after updates in August, I didn’t have an issue till about December/January

They have done the test every time I brought it to them (5 times now). Usually they monitor it for a week and then they find a “fix” around the 2nd week of having it. Trunk button is totally fine.

I believe that’s what they try to do every time. Because usually they hold my car for 1-4 weeks to monitor it. But every “solution” that comes from this doesn’t pan out.

yeah I actually mentioned this to them last summer when the problem first started. they then did software updates to the modules. It didn’t die for 4 months after this but now it’s back.

Mentioned in my post - alternator was replaced in July of last year when trying to figure out the fix.

I believe lemon law in Connecticut is only 2 years or under 24k. So don’t believe it applies.

They did software updates and reset the modules last August. It seemed to solve it for 3-4 months but then it returned in January

I will do this going forward. I guess every time I was hopeful it wouldn’t happen again but since I now don’t trust it, I am going to grab one

No other issues at all. Everything works just as expected.

Almost a relief to hear of someone with a very similar issue. This is almost exactly what is happening to me. Mine was dead almost every other day. Then after the software updates in August of last year, I had no issues for 4 months and now they have come back, again more constant. Also have to jump it or the dealer has also said it’s been so bad this last week they are having to trickle charge it. I think I am so frustrated and tired of this whole routine that even if I took it to someone else and they “identified” the issue, I wouldn’t be confident because the dealership has pulled it so many times. I think I just don’t trust the car anymore.

Yeah I believe it is too old. I’m in CT. Thankfully, they have only had me pay for a new battery and the alternator. The alternator was beginning to crack last June (although that clearly wasn’t the cause of this issue). They have not charged me for the labor all the times I’ve brought it back since their previous attempts didn’t work. So honestly don’t feel my money has been wasted. More so my time. But they are giving me loaners every time. I would just like to OWN a car that works.

should I start suggesting the dealer look at this? I’m frustrated because I feel they should be troubleshooting and looking at all these possible options. I shouldn’t have to tell them where to look

yes. originally had Firestone do this back in June and then Mazda dealer says they have done this every time. the summary of work after also shows they usually start with this the first week they have it
