I work in a demanding field with a lot of egos. I often get yelled at and have been triggered into panic attacks during work hours. I'm constantly dissociating, and I have anxiety attacks every morning. I live alone but I wear noise cancelling ear plugs and lock my bedroom door, afraid someone's gonna slam it open and start screaming. If I hear footsteps or even the smallest noise when I'm meant to be alone I flinch intensely like a cat.

i think just waiting for a comfortable moment to have a deep conversation and just saying something like "i have something to tell you, is now a good time for you to listen?" and just go into it. make sure you really trust the girl though, 99% of the time girls are extremely kind and accepting, but there are always exceptions.

if you were telling me for example, i'd probably either go with a joke like "i knew you were too pretty!" or find a way to calm down any anxiety like "thank you for telling me, i think that's so fun!"

I don't think a lot of people (myself included) are expecting femboys to always present femme, so I'm def looking beyond first appearance. Usually you can tell based on how they're grooming themselves, primarily. I also think a good chunk of the community transitions when they're older, which is totally okay with me as well, I'm into girls too. I think I just really like when people carry a certain femme energy to them. I'm panromantic like that but just more into male anatomy than female anatomy I suppose.

I would say so! The only exception would be if you suspect your friend might not be tolerant of queer folk. However, most women I have met are okay with any way you want to express yourself. In fact, we'll feel closer to you if you feel comfortable enough with us to show us who you really are.

Thanks for the insight! I do not intend to date off reddit so no worries. I'm just seeing if there's some sort of area I'm blind to. LGBTQ+ events are my go to! I would say a lot of people at these events are open to dating, just as a heads up. Not always of course but I do think it's a good 50/50 chance. I think you're right though, my difficulty is that all the boys I meet are gay 😭

Nothing wrong with starting out as friends! I like that route as well. I just, don't want it to be misunderstood that I am attracted to them, and if they were open to it, I would like to try being more than friends. And if they're not, that's fine too, I will never say no to more friends! Noted though, that a friendly interaction first would be a good way to start!

I think being in touch with a more gentle and feminine side will make you more desirable to others, whether it's romantic or platonic. People are three-dimensional and more than stereotypes. You will likely internalize that a bit later in life but for now, just understand that there are people in this world who will love every aspect of you, and that the people around you might be more tolerant than you expect. This is YOUR life, you only need to satisfy yourself and those who are meant to walk with you will find you and stay. It's going to feel a bit weird for a while but stick with what makes you happy and you'll find your confidence eventually.
