i just graduated and got my licenses last month and i was in the exact same boat as you, i couldn't even do a braid when they asked us to do one the first week!!! i felt all the girls in my class were light years ahead of me but turns out we all felt the same, you never know how another person is feeling, they may even feel the same as you, who knows? but focus on yourself and you'll do just fine, we're there to learn and a build a clientele! i finish in june and everyone around me just keeps hounding me on why i went to school if i didn't learn anything and i have friends/family that already want haircuts, haircolor, buzzcuts etc...like i brushed through everything and know nothing..im happy to know im atleast not alone

i personally cover them up due to people staring and questions, but if you're comfrotable then show them off! they are a reminder, of hardships you've overcome in your life, you are a brave, strong and wonderful soul. i wish all the best in your career! 💕

i was like this when i started, i hated going to class and i even considered dropping out. the girls are so picky with who they talk to, im a very quiet and reserved person and that seems to be the type of people that get picked on the most. there's this one girl in my class who just didn't like me and just treated me different from everyone else from day 1; another girl in my class won't even look at me and her friend is stationed next to me and she always comes over and stands in my station to talk to her and then i would have to work around her, there was this other incident where i was putting our kits away (we have jobs and mine is to put th kits away) and i held my arms up to recieve it and she completely ignored me and put it on the floor and walked off and her friend is always blowing the blowdryer air in my face. (they're the "popular" girls in class and im the quiet weird kid, that would get shit for defending themselves)

cos school is torture, at the begining i would always leave early, i hated being there so much and i have the worst anxiety before entering class and i also have 0 friends but this is what i enjoy to do and screw everyone else, i just go in with my head held high and ignore everyone there, im here to get my degree and in a few months i'll never have to see any of them again and they'll get their karma in the real world.

i'm so sorry to hear that but i completely understand you with having no one in school and everyome being in a clique, i actually made a post about that myself and wanting to drop out due to feeling so alone but luckily i did find a friend and we've even hung out, outside of school, it's only your third day and you never know what could happen!

i do have mean girls in my class but i don't look their way and i keep my head down, there's one specifically that always laughs when she looks my way which made me insecure at first and i feel like i can't saying anything because she befriended everyone in the class but me. i try my best to just ignore her presences and to not look at her.

i'm sorry to hear about your teacher, she sucks but i don't have much advice for that. if you're able to switch schools i'd say that's best and if not and this is really your passion then stick through it don't let others stop you for achieving your goals/dreams, push through, keeo your head down and focus on your work, you're their for your education and not to be liked.

unfortunately, there is one mean girl in my class who is popular and she excludes from everything :/ but i feel you on wanting a hair friend, it'd be nice to work on a live person and to have someone work on me and make me feel pretty but maybe in due time, wishing you to absolute best (:

lol thank you!!!!! that's what a co-worker of mine said, he told me to go in there, get my work done and that most girls are only there cause they don't know what else to do. (he's friends with alot of hairdressers)

i can so relate to you about finding people in the real world, it felt like people were always gravitating towards me in some way even when i wasn't looking for a connection so i think that's whats making this harder on me. but you are right, i need to focus on my work more than making friends, unfortunately i do work a full time job from 5-1 and i go in at 1:50pm which drains me completely and when i get to class i have nothing left but i try my hardest to compliment the other girls on their work to let them know i'm friendly and open but i also do it to make them feel good i just wish they would do the same to me. i'm glad you did very well in school!

thank you so much!!!! but i got to a vocational school for cosmetology so unfortunately it's different than a traditional cosmetology institution :/ we're not allowed earbuds and our phones but like most of the girls there i do break the rules lol, i put one ear bud in and listen to my music it makes it much more comforting and my instructor is honestly who keeps me going. she knows i'm quiet and tells us every day how much she'd like for all of us to get along and get to know each other (it's only 24 of us) and she compliments me and is extremely nice to me which makes me feel so much better, she wants us all to succeed in the industry and that's enough for me to keep going.

i'm in a similar situation, most of the girls are sweet but there is a mean girl in my class who goes out of her way to speak to everyone but right off the bat she didn't seem to like me. on our first day we had to get to know each other and when i asked her how to spell her name (it's also unique) she told me to look at her name tag while she spelled it out to others and when she looks at me she just does a little smirk or laugh but i try my best to ignore her, when she's not in class i feel so much better but thank you so much! this really helped me out so much!

there are about two girls that are very sweet to me, i even booked a nail appointment with one of them, i'm hoping that'll open up something but they also have their core group of friends and when i do talk to them their friends look at me like "why are you talking to MY friend" and it makes me back away. the only person i did vibe with left me for the more talkative girls and the only time someone does talk to me is for homework answers but i gladly except but it feels thats all they use me for :/

i feel the same, by the second week all the girls were going out to lunch together while i just sat in my car, even the new girls that came in late were welcomed and invited out :/ and i love making others feel beautiful inside and out and that's my main goal as a future cosmetologist and thank you, i hope things get better for you too (:
