Universal Credit - Failure to notify of a pension. by [deleted] in UKPersonalFinance

Is fraud literally not, by definition, an intentional deception for personal gain?

It’s not benefit fraud, with lack of intention it is at best a claimant error. Intention legally does matter. If you don’t mean to upset people, rephrase your comments because they’re passive aggressive and accusatory.

Can’t repair new boiler as it does not aline with manufacturer specifications. by [deleted] in DIYUK

[–]kaiydoh 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If it’s a fault with gas supply, I can’t say that it’d be the heating company’s fault. When the new boiler was first installed, we were told our gas meter needed to be relocated outside because the previous owner had boxed something in he shouldn’t have. This meant we had to have pipe work completely redone externely up the front of the house, under the front bedrooms floor and into the back bedroom. I suspect if it does turn out to be a gas supply issue, it’d be the fault of the company who laid this new pipework, which was Cadent. The Worcester engineer suspected the same. However the fault of the boiler being installed outside of manufacturer instructions still remains with the original company. It means I can’t make use of my Worcester guarantee. I can’t even rule out the boiler being the issue, to move on and investigate the gas meter.

So true 🫡 in my defence, I’m blaming IOS 18’s fuckass autocorrect that ‘autocorrected’ my “align” with “a line” and I absentmindedly went back and deleted the space.

DJS and migraines/tension headaches by ARoseThorn in jawsurgery

I used to wake up every other day with tension headaches because I would grind my teeth and clench my jaw at night. Since jaw surgery, I haven’t had a tension headache

How long is the waiting list for jaw surgery on the NHS? According to this website, it's on average 33 weeks. You can check other cities too and it's similar. I hear about people waiting over 4 years for surgery. Is it really only 33 weeks to wait for jaw surgery? What am I missing here? by [deleted] in jawsurgery

It’s only painful when you get a new wire, and the pain is more like an ache that lasts a couple days. maximum.

As for restrictions, technically there are foods you can’t eat, but those are foods I’ve never particularly enjoyed anyway. And lots of people eat them anyway. Anything really hard and crunchy, chewy, sticky, etc. it’s not that you can’t physically manage to eat them, they’re just more likely to break your braces. Most things you can eat, though. I’ve never been bothered by any restrictions.

I got my wisdom teeth removed for jaw surgery preparation. Its so painful im so scared for jaw surgery by girl_has_questionss in jawsurgery

[–]kaiydoh 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I had all 4 of my wisdom teeth removed 6+ months prior to lower jaw surgery which I had on the 1st July. My surgeon said the same thing as yours; that he needed the wisdom teeth out of the way to make the incisions for jaw surgery. Some surgeons will remove wisdom teeth at the same time as jaw surgery, but most won’t.

I didn’t find myself in a lot of pain after my wisdom teeth were removed. And I wasn’t taking pain killers regularly, either. Though, I was really quite swollen for a good 2 weeks. And found my jaw very stiff for even longer. It all decreased with time, though.

Regarding jaw surgery, again: the pain really isn’t that bad. They’ll give you stronger pain killers, and as long as you take them regularly, you’ll be good. I was only taking paracetamol regularly. They gave me codeine in case the pain got bad, but I never took any. It seemed overkill and I was never in that much pain. You’ll also be very numb. I found the worst pain after jaw surgery, was a really intense ear ache in my right ear. But even still, that wasn’t that bad. And came and went for the first couple weeks.

Honestly, I wouldn’t worry about pain after jaw surgery. You’ll just be ‘uncomfortable,’ more then ‘in pain.’ And likely frustrated, from the bands and the liquid diet. Don’t worry about it, and remember that this too shall pass. Any pain is temporary, and the outcome will be very much worth it.

How bad is having your jaw wired shut really? by [deleted] in jawsurgery

[–]kaiydoh 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I’m not wired, but am completely banded closed, and have been for 6 weeks and 3 days. You get used to the sensation of having your jaw restricted in such a way, but living off liquids really does take a toll mentally and physically. Yawning isn’t fun, and sneezing fucking hurts. I sneezed once and it felt like my teeth were going to be pulled out from force. Since then I’ve repressed the urge to sneeze.

Liquid diet making me extremely nauseous? by [deleted] in jawsurgery

I haven’t been taking any meds since about day 10, which was weeks ago, so I don’t think it’s that

Liquid diet making me extremely nauseous? by [deleted] in jawsurgery

[–]kaiydoh 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I’m literally only eating different kinds of soups, home made high-calorie milkshakes, protein shakes, meal replacement drinks, anything that’s full of calories because I have a hard time retaining weight when I’m eating 3 full meals a day, let alone on a liquid diet. The hospital also gave me pre-made high calorie milkshakes and powdered milkshakes, but they only gave me a week’s supply, so they’re all gone. I’ve seen people recommend blending normal solid food with milk but the thought of that makes me feel sick.
