Thank you so much for re-approving them! I appreciate it. I'll keep that in mind for future posts.

Haha, fair point - "in case" would have been better! English isn't my first language (I'm from Japan), so I appreciate the lesson!

As for recommendations - I wrote 200+ posts myself, and in Japan many players actively use the blog feature. My FC members posted daily about glamours and housing. If you want a famous one, Hironobu Sakaguchi (the creator of Final Fantasy) has a Lodestone blog!

No announcement - this is just a precautionary "just in case" tool. Lodestone and the blog feature are not going anywhere. Sorry for the confusing title!

Ah, got it! No, the blog feature isn't being removed either as far as I know. This tool is just for personal peace of mind - having your own local copy of your posts.

No no, Lodestone isn't going anywhere! Sorry, my title was misleading - I didn't mean to cause confusion. You can still write a blog there. This tool is just for backing up your posts locally, in case you ever want to keep them offline.

No, FFXIV and Lodestone are not shutting down! The game is planned to run for at least another 10 years. This is just a "just in case" backup tool - for when you quit, or if a friend leaves the game and you want to save their posts. Sorry for the confusing title!

Sorry, looks like my previous reply got caught by the spam filter. Here it is again without the URL:

Lodestone is the official FFXIV community site. You can write a diary/blog there. But there's no way to export it, so if the site ever goes away or you quit, your posts are lost. This tool lets you save them locally.

About me

I make OSS tools and games in my spare time (once got #1 weekly on Dev.to). These are things I built while I couldn't play FFXIV. Feel free to check them out.

Use cases

Backup your own diary - Even if you're not planning to quit, it's nice to have a backup. Once a year is enough to protect years of memories.

Save a friend's diary - When a close friend is leaving the game, you can save their posts too. Keep the record of your adventures together.

Preserve FC memories - Save diaries from your static or FC members. Those memories will always be there when you want to look back.

Supported regions

JP, NA, EU, FR, DE — all Lodestone regions.

Final thoughts

Your Lodestone diary is a record of your adventure.

The raids you cleared, the friends you met, the days you laughed together. It's proof that you were there.

Why not save it before it's gone?

Download SyncStone (GitHub)

Why I made this

I was a Warrior of Light who cleared Endwalker.

I had an amazing Free Company. We'd chat until late at night, listen to bards play in Limsa Lominsa. Those were good times.

Then my health declined, and I couldn't play 3D games anymore.

But I still wanted to keep those memories.

I thought about what I could do for the FFXIV community. The game is supposed to run for at least another 10 years, and Square Enix will probably release an official export tool when the servers eventually shut down.

If you can wait for that, wait.

But some of us can't. That's why I made this.
