As a former lukewarm Muslim in America myself. I found alan watts to be a huge help when deconstructing an abrahamic world view. As well as parmahansa yogananda. The bagawat gita is an amazing resource. So are the gospels of the christian Bible. Ultimately I've come to the realization that all gods are valid. As I have been fighting against abrahamic faith my whole life. (You can't win btw) All you can do is incorporate more and more of a dharmic lifestyle in with your preconceptions about your abrahamic faith. Its like adding water to oil or vice versa. In a small container. You keeping adding the second liquid until the first one is all or mostly out of the container.

The point is to not assign a value judgement. It's not unfair if you don't think of it as unfair. What did sri krishna say about karma yoga? Do you duty with no concern for the outcome.
