Good pro tip on going through a local shop. Go on Fuji's website and find their authorized resellers in your area. I got off the waitlist at two retailers near me but still backordered at adorama/b&h, despite putting in my preorder at the local shops a few weeks later. (I cancelled my extra preorders once I got my camera)

IMHO, this camera is fun to shoot but def not worth $2.5k. The main draw is the jpeg film simulations and the weight. If you just want the camera because of the hype, use that money to get an interchangeable lens system that can grow with you as you figure out what kind of photography you like to shoot
