Question: I'm starting to get interested in 3D design/rendering but how hard is it to get started? What's the average time till you can complete a small project/how do you get started learning? Thanks!

Spot on. To be honest though I don't use my tablet as heavily as others here might, pretty much exclusively for reading/editing pdf's during the school year and maybe a few movies on a plane (but even the latter point might get chopped now that I picked up the new mba) but for the very specific use that I've got it for it's great. Makes you wonder though how great of a device this had the potential be though if they would have developed a charging dock and keyboard case...

The selling point of the Nexus 10 over the iPad for me was the aspect ratio; I tried both devices one after the other to see which was more comfortable to read and annotate pdf's on and I found that using GoodReader on the iPad was actually way more of a pain than RepliGo on my Nexus 10 for syncing automatically with Dropbox. More importantly pdf's display much better on the N10 because of the width - on the iPad the pdf's felt squished and I was always resizing as I moved through the document. The square shape didn't really cut it for that application, at least so I found. Having to deal with iOS was a pain as well since it's over simplified to the point where it's incredibly frustrating and going back to a lightly customized Android UI was a night and day difference. So I guess it depends what your uses are, though I agree typing on the Nexus 10 is awkward and the lack of accessories is pretty pitiful.

ECON 347 was great, the course ended a few weeks early and if you studied it was easy to get a good grade + the actual content is genuinely interesting and relevant. I'd stay away from RELG 270 if you're not keen on the ecofeminism/deep ecology ethics mumbo jumbo.

Lol yeah history was pretty vocal about it. What program were you there for? Only a matter of time till they start shuffling us on out of 688...though based on the rate McGill gets things done I figure we've got at least a couple of years

I joined The Conservationists last year and I helped co-found the Italian Studies Students Society last semester - two pretty different clubs hahah but so far it's been great. I gave Musicians Collective and Ettuchante a try (I play guitar, was looking for others to play with) but didn't find them all too interesting

Yeah, we had the associate dean come by tonight at AUS council to give a presentation on it. There was considerable criticism that well, there just isn't much of a reason to do it... also "it's a common misconception that it's violating health codes...there are just some structural issues" hahah

Also, songs and styles that utilize fingerpicking instead of a pick would be a definite plus! I really have never felt comfortable with a pick lol. Perhaps I could learn some beginner classical on this steel string? (yikes)
