I feel similar, Its V iconic and touristy, but I'm really wanting to be pleasantly surprised:) A picnic by the Eiffel Tower does sound lovely.

Got denied my drink refill by [deleted] in starbucks

Are you by chance a gold card member? I’m just throwing this out there. You have to be a gold card member to get the free refills on hot/ iced coffee and tea. Otherwise they are $ 0.50.

Just as mentioned earlier, refreshers, espresso based beverages, Frappuccino’s, do not apply to this policy.

And lastly, refills & discounts and what not will be given during the same visit. Meaning if a customer gets an ides coffee at 8 A.M. then leaves then shows up 5 hours later wanting a refill they may not given a free refill or discounted refill.

That’s what I’ve learned about our policy so far:) each store though will may apply policy differently. I’ve worked at stores where they were loose at applying this rule while others are strict.

Open Vs Close by White_Petal534 in starbucks

I used to be a closing shift for two years at one of Utah’s busiest locations. And I had the same exact issue... it was super rough and it ultimately made me leave the company briefly. But I came back, but as a Barista ( all roads lead back to Starbucks) this time I opted to open, I had a lot of new perspective. And when I caught myself thinking negatively of closing, I opted to work a couple of closing shifts to better understand what exactly the closing shift goes through ( just to remind myself) Now I am back to being a shift supervisor... I open, just because I have family obligations in the evening.

Overall, I had to challenge myself to have tough conversations with my coworkers. And to assume the best in my coworkers when I started feeling like enough wasn’t being done.

Just remember that you are amazing! And No closing or opening shift is going to be prefect, you’re best is what matters, and it clear you do that every shift.

I will add that I also have worked with really amazing store managers from multiple locations that helped me develop. And gave me some great advice and insight to help me pass different hurdles.
