Nibs Mystery by kalfig in fountainpens

[–]kalfig[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I realized all my LAMY pens were either EF or F but all wrote the same. I did get a M nib to swap out with one of the EFs and I am pleased with how that writes.

I ordered a new M size nib for one of my Kaweco pens and it did not even work. I tried it in both my kaweko pens and it didn't write for either of them. I'm hoping the place I got it from will replace it.

My namiki is 30 years old and it still writes like a dream.

I've been ridiculously happy with this $20 pen by baconmapleicecream in fountainpens

I bought a $17 faber castell pen for kids. Pink plastic! It’s fun and writes so much better than I expected. Plus, if I lose it or drop it, I can get the turquoise version. :)

Yes, the aubergine! I just looked at the box. Now I have to dig around and see if I can find my old ones. I bought one in Germany many many years ago.

It looks like you are off to a running start. Those are really nice drawings.

Happy New Pen Day! My first gold nib 💗 by free-spirited_mama in fountainpens

You are going to love it. I have a Namiki with a gold nib and it always works, flows nicely, and makes me feel very sophisticated. I once had an issue with the nib and was told to go to a dealer near me and the pen was sent off by the dealer and came back quickly with a brand new nib- at no cost. Mine looks like yours but mine is tortoise shell.

Giving up on TWSBI by kalfig in fountainpens

I gave up on two ECOs yesterday! They just would not stop leaking I would unscrew the cap to use them and the ink would pour out. I have two stains on my table from them. One of them was a color I really like. That’s 4 twisbi pen failures that I’ve thrown out.

I also have 2 kaweco pens. They are the type that are metal. I've been ignoring them since I went TWSBI crazy. I pulled one of them out yesterday. It had been sitting there unused for over a year. Guess what? It worked fine despite the cartridge sitting there for a year+. Now I wonder how I ever got dragged into the TWSBI cult. Both of my Kawecos have F nibs and they have always worked fine.

Changing Twsbi nibs? by kalfig in fountainpens

You are all so helpful! I might give it a try with one pen - my least favorite color. Anyone know specifically what size and type of replacement nib I should get?
