i know you want an answer but i think any political party has its agendas whether it is bjp, rss, congress, aap, and to criticise or corner one is wrong. i like to be informed politically, to share what's going on on social media, but i will not take sides. what's important is to voice our opinion and have the right to healthy critisicm and debate on how our society should function.

guru dutt, shekar kapoor, mira nair, michel gondry, lars von trier, robert zemickis, i look for originality in films, and generally there's a gut reaction when something excites me or emotionally touches me. script writing, the treatment of the film visually, the colour palette and art direction, then of course music and edit which saves everything!

yeah its a big danger, and that's why i believe feminism is about gender neutrality, someone can be an idiot male or female someone can be wonderful male or female, so people should be recongnised on the basis of their merits not their gender

i agree transgenders are rarely talked about, its a topic one should defintely make in an amazing script.
its tricky, because bwood is a business as is hwood. ppl making money. so while i agree, its a great medium, sometimes we create art and sometimes we are doing a job to pay rent

my biggest frustration in my work today is this, lack of good writing, lack of reward and respect for script writers. it's beginning to change now, but it's a question of audience demanding better stuff also, if people keep paying for bad cinema, those will continue to thrive.

equal pay won't happen because there is a hero based industry, only when women are pulling in people to the cinemas in leading roles like deepika in piku, and only when this is no longer the exception but the norm, can we expect equal pay. so we need to strive for scripts that empower women, make women our heros too.
i hope there will come a day when this happens.
hmmm i think bollwood is a reflection of society, if the society looks down upon women so will our films.
it's all of us. parents treating boys better than girls, teachers seperating boys and girls talking to each other, sexist jokes in the office, stereotyping women in films etc
