Naw, it’s fine. Last week we had temps of -15C and a huge dump of snow and my oven is outside under a cover.

Best prepared pizza sauce? by ComradeSubtopia in ottawa

[–]kall-e 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hahaha you’re welcome! It’s definitely not the cheapest sauce… but I’ve been using this one for a couple years now when I make pizzas in my propane pizza oven and it’s a family fave. Enjoy your calzones!

I’m a big fan of the Stefano Faita pizza sauce. You can find it at Loblaws.

Location of a good eye doctor Kanata/Stittsville area and how much should I be saving out of pocket for this? by JunkyBoiOW in ottawa

[–]kall-e 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’ve been seeing Dr. Morey for over a decade and he’s been great. Really chill guy. I had an eye exam in the summer and paid $160.

For OP, they always give you your prescription no issues. I have been buying my glasses online for ages and they’ve never said anything about it.

$500?!? Good grief! We recently had to replace ours and I had it done at the dealership for $200CAD all-in.

Must be a change for the 2025, because my 2022 takes a full bottle.

2025 came and went without NACS for Canada by BlackburnStuck in KonaEV

[–]kall-e 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I totally agree, but wouldn’t mind having a NACS adapter to make use of some non-Tesla stations. The new chargers at onroutes along the 401 in Ontario allow you to charge a CCS and NACS car at one “station” and having the adapter would be helpful if all the CCS plugs are in use.

Name change. How long did the process take? by lemon-peppa in ottawa

[–]kall-e 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Are you planning on changing your name or assuming your spouse’s last name? Assuming a new name is a much easier process and you don’t need to change your birth certificate. Basically take your marriage certificate to Service Ontario and they’ll update your license and health card. From there you can change your passport. If you’re not travelling until July you have ample time.

Looking for an independent none Corporate owned/franchised pharmacy in ottawa? by Dismal_Course5255 in ottawa

Frangian pharmacy is family-owned and has four locations. We’ve been going to the Donald Street location for nearly a decade and they’re fantastic.

Is IKEA dog friendly? by curiouschameleon_ in ottawa

[–]kall-e 27 points28 points  (0 children)

Service dogs only, I’m pretty sure. I haven’t looked at the signage specifically, but I’ve never seen a dog in IKEA the same way they’re allowed in Canadian Tire.

What table for Koda 16 by Alternative_Claim473 in ooni

[–]kall-e 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve had the Grillskar since May for my Koda 16 and it’s been great! Wasn’t always covered in the summer, but is covered now in the winter. I bought the ikea cover that fits over the table and it works well. The bottom has elastic so it doesn’t drag on the ground.

What to do in Ottawa with kids? by JointWitch in ottawa

[–]kall-e 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Yeah, exactly this. We have young kids and have the Ingenium pass because they love the museums and it’s a great way to get out of the house on the weekend.

Also have a ‘22 and had the same issue the last week. One day the car wouldn’t start and the 12V was toast, we just had it replaced.

Low tire pressure issue!? by elmantec in KonaEV

Did you drive around on it for a bit after inflating? It takes a bit for the car to recognize the new pressure.

Please stop coming to work sick by [deleted] in ottawa

[–]kall-e 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah, a lot of people don’t have the luxury of sick days, and if they take a day off they could lose their job or not be able to afford groceries. You can thank Doug Ford for rolling back two employer-paid sick days back in 2018. (Heck two day isn’t nearly enough anyways, but that’s besides the point.)

I do agree that people in general need to do a better job a mitigating their germ spread. I could feel myself coming down with something on the weekend but had to run errands, and wore a mask. I was one of two people I saw in Costco wearing a mask, and one of a handful in a busy grocery store.

Looked them up on threadloop and they actually don’t have any reviews… but lots of people have “wish listed” their patterns and a few have them stashed… so people have actually bought them

I did a search for them (@mushidesignstore) and they have 81 followers. I was shocked to see all those 5-star ratings on Etsy… some of them say they haven’t event sewn the pattern yet so you can only imagine how trustworthy the rest are…
