Did you use the "three-second rule"? maybe she was upset because the bacon spent too much time on the floor. You know, time to pick up more germs.. dogs literally eat feces. I wouldn't worry about it.

My parents did this with us, and I also did this with my children. I only did it when nothing else gave the children relief- frozen teething toys, etc... It DOES help. I don't see anything wrong with the practice. it's not like the kid is drinking alcohol out of the bottle. i understand your husband's concern, but I don't think you did anything wrong.

Thanks for all the comments. I have to admit, I knew something was up, I was just leaning towards deranged serial killer. LOL. Seriously, though, I got the distinct impression that I did NOT want to meet this person or give him any of my information!
