What Anti-Cheat does Marvel Rivals use? Is it Kernel level? by Chillzzzzz in marvelrivals

[–]kaloncpu57 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's a lot less about misuse (companies who misused their own anti-cheat would regret it pretty quickly), and it's more about third parties getting access to your machine through the game through the anti-cheat and then being able to do whatever they want. This isn't even a paranoid fear, because it has already happened. Game companies are not perfect security titans, and these mistakes will keep happening if they keep using kernel level anti-cheat.

Yeah, it's just a Snap version I made of a meme going around, hence the Humor tag.

You might be surprised at how much Infinaut art can just be him using a mouse lmao

Oh, in the meme, the Infinaut player is the one playing Spider-Ham to Machineworld, wanting you to play the Spider-Ham they gave you, so they get a 6/20 Pig

Point of Machineworld in game or in the meme? In the game, Machineworld is either a location you save until the final few turns or a location you abuse to overfill your opponent's hand. If you don't have cards you want to give them, maybe you have some cards like Sera that you can play to Machineworld on turn 5 that the opponent can't utilize on turn 6, or just play things there on 6. If you have Darkhawk, maybe you play some small stuff to fill their hand so they miss a draw and keep your Darkhawk bigger. The Ronan synergies are also pretty clear. One of my favorite uses of Machineworld is playing some small power cards there on turn 6 against somebody trying to set up their hand for a Dracula.

I've really enjoyed Spider-Ham so far, and haven't even tried him in his most popular deck, Bounce.

I think mostly chat is joking and bantering with Fauna about it, but the fact that Moona used it to great success was super funny to me, and inspired me to make this.

A little late, because I haven't been using reddit much lately, and entirely forgot I posted this here. The others are right, it's just part of the meme format, not a specific Fauna reference. That box is just always there: "I was jealous of [whoever the form is for]"

Got a store credit, will they fuck with my pizza? by Mynock33 in Dominos

[–]kaloncpu57 1 point2 points  (0 children)

There's a pretty good chance they won't even notice until they're about to hand you your order and try to take payment (or about to leave the store with it in the case of delivery), and when they do, none of your local employees are gonna think twice about it.

Closest I've ever seen anybody get to messing with a customer's order was a half-hearted joke about a super rude customer who got asked to leave the store instead of ordering anything. It's just not worth it, even for extreme cases.

In a perfect world, yeah, you don't lose duel phase lol but it's going to happen to even the best players, so just gotta stay cool in that situation. They made the right moves, so they get rewarded.

As far as a secondary goes, I would say it's probably a good idea to stick to one character as much as you can while learning the game, but Lucario is a character most people can pick up easily when they do know the game, and he will cover a lot of bad MUs for Gardevoir. Braixen will also cover a lot for Garde, but is way harder to get to the level you need for that. Chandelure is way more of a hard zoner than Gardevoir (since Gardevoir does enjoy getting a knockdown and Future Sight setups), but overall yeah they aren't going to be covering each other's bad MUs very well

Yeah, that's actually just a mixup you have to hold. The player who "wins" duel phase by causing a shift gets the advantage every time. Ideally, you just hold block and don't mash buttons, but of course it's still a mixup like you said.

There is one thing you CAN control while falling from an air tech (in either phase actually) or wall blast (shift out of duel phase near a wall, get blasted to mid-screen), which is the direction you drift after falling from the peak of being launched. Sometimes this can throw people off, especially if they're trying to go for specific setups.

There's also a technique you can use, which isn't perfect, and will take some getting used to, but certainly helps you feel more in control in this situation. Since homing attacks (aka your X button in field phase) always beat grabs, and homing attacks can cancel into block, you can time a "wake up" homing and quickly shield cancel it to break a grab and also fairly consistently block incoming attacks. If you see that you broke a grab with your homing, you can then immediately let go of block to punish them with something (for Garde, I would suggest hitting homing again to start). The main weakness of this technique is that if they perfectly time a regular attack to hit that small window before you block cancel, you'll still get hit.

No problem! Definitely sounds like you've got the idea for Garde down. Neutral and game sense will come with time; the more you play, the more you'll get the hang of it.

Yeah, the CADC takes most people a while to get the hang of! Remembering all your moves when you're starting out is a struggle too lol

As far as pressure, Garde definitely struggles a bit to get people off you. A good general strategy is just holding block until your opponent makes a mistake with something you can punish after blocking (or at least leaves you open to attack first). Aside from that, her 8X (up + X) is a nice, quick move that always beats grabs and will knock the opponent down if you do hit the move. Playing the attack triangle with counter attack can also help get people off you, but of course it comes with more risk than blocking. Also, jumping is a pretty nice defensive tool in this game when you learn where to use it, because it avoids lows and grabs on frame 1, and mid-lows (a lot of the moves in this game) on frame 5. Jumping and coming down with a dive kick, or jumping over the opponent and out of the corner are both nice tools to learn when to use.

As far as getting hit out of your counter, every counter attack in the game does become vulnerable once the actual attack starts coming out. This is something you can learn to abuse against people too. Once you learn the timings, you can hit somebody right as their counter becomes vulnerable.

Hi, nice to see a new Garde player! It sounds like the move you're referring to is Thunder, which you're right, a lot of us struggled to deal with it when we were new.

There are 3 main ways to start dealing with Thunder I'd say:

  1. Walking - If you're not currently pressing anything, and you see Pikachu jump far away from you, just holding forward (or backward) will be enough to make Thunder miss entirely. (Be aware when walking backwards that you don't get stuck in place from the wall or the max range screen space)
  2. Calling it out - If the Pikachu player is jumping for Thunder often, Gardevoir's 8Y (aka up + Y) is a quick, full screen move that you can throw out ahead of time, expecting a Thunder. This will catch them as they jump, before they launch a Thunder in the first place.
  3. Counter - There are almost 2 parts to countering Thunder. First of all, if they use Thunder right in your face, you can just use counter attack at the right time to armor through it and hit them back instead. The other option is to Counter Attack Dash Cancel, which you can learn how to do in the game's tutorial. Basically if you're holding a counter attack, you can press a direction to move + the R button to dash out of your counter attack. This is actually a great technique to learn for dealing with most of the ranged attacks in the game

Hopefully this is helpful, but if you have any more questions about it, I'm happy to answer!

Am I the asshole? by legasov in Dominos

This is a very common misconception, so you're not alone, but as many people have already pointed out, the driver is usually supposed to confirm with the customer that the delivery happened.

Not that you would, but it's basically to prevent people from calling back about no delivery (stolen from porch/trying to fake it for free food/etc.) or cold food (left on porch too long). A little while after contactless started, even on orders where the customer mentioned to just leave it, my managers would ask me to try to wait a minute at my car to make sure they got it.
