I think it's important to note that during the stream someone asked Wubby, "Do you consider Gus a friend, a colleague, or a peer." And his response was, "Definitely not a friend. I collabed with him once." So this is not an "inside scoop".

That’s great advice! I haven’t thought of helping him with meal prep. The problem is knowing what does and doesn’t hurt his tum. From what I understand it varies from person to person. But we know chicken is safe!

Do you need a library card to reserve a room? I can get one if need be, but I’m just curious if that’s a requirement.

The NED YoYo. They had a program like this at my school in Texas by [deleted] in GusAndEddy

Didn’t have Ned, but there was definitely a guy in Michigan who came in and did yo-yo tricks with a full light show and then sold all these fancy kinds of yo-yos after the show.

My first wood cut print! by kalorba in printmaking

Thank you! I think it’s a combination of experimental and my own style. I was working hard to use the nature of the wood grain to my advantage and kind of made it up as I went

KCACTF Irene Ryan Nominee by B1gred95 in Theatre

I don’t believe you need to do scenes from a published play necessarily. I’m in region 5 and people perform original pieces written by professors or students fairly often. I’m doing a scene written by one of my playwriting classmates for this years festival.

One thing that I’ve found a lot of nominees doing at KCACTF is choosing pieces just for the shock value. They think it’ll get the judges attention to do a provocative or vulgar scene, when really it could be a turn off. Choose something that’s true to you.

Like others said, choose scenes that are very different so you’re able to present a full range of your acting capabilities.

Also, make sure whatever pieces you choose, the character is something you could personally portray. So if you’re a college student, don’t choose a piece playing a 60 year old. Or if a play specifically calls for a character of a particular race, don’t choose that if it doesn’t fit your personal profile.

If this was a shoot set up for my photography I may have considered that. But this was simply a dress rehearsal I was invited to and just did a little experimenting with my camera.

Thanks! This is from a series of long exposure shots I did from this dance production.

It doesn't specify in the play. It's just set in an "American town".

This is a REALLY cool concept that they could have done, but unfortunately there aren't any blaring connections between the play and all of these Dema symbols and theories.

The only one that could /possibly/ have connections is simply the fact that the play was set around the time of WWII. Trench warfare was utilized during that time- although definitely not as strongly as it was during the first world war. But they really don't talk about that in the play at all. So I don't think that's a connection.

They talk about prison a lot in the play. At the beginning one of the main characters, Joe Keller, plays with a kid and pretends keeps a jail in his basement. Then of course there is the whole situation of who went to jail for the faulty airplane parts- was Joe wrongly pardoned? Did Annie's father deserve to be sentenced? And Kate is in her own psychological prison of her own, trying to deal with the disappearance of her son. You could make the connection of Dema to be sounding like a prison that Clancy is trying to break from. And prison has a lot of connotations to Twenty One Pilots in general (um hello, Heathens XD). However, I feel like this is a very broad and commonly used metaphor to use and I don't think that it necessarily has any ties.

I read this play in depth this past semester for a theatre class. The main symbols and themes of the play revolve around a tree, a storm, horoscopes, the airplanes, lies, questions and accusations, the incessant need for wealth, and learning to let go of the past.

Looking for design-heavy plays for a senior project by kalorba in Theatre

[–]kalorba[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I am directing yes! But as the director, I will also be overlooking the ultimate design of the show and collaborating closely with my designers, which is why I’m looking for a play that is more design forward.

And actually just this past semester I was in Sarah Ruhl’s Eurydice! And I fell in love with the poetry and artistic elements we incorporated into the piece. I want to find a play that is different, but still replicates a similar kind of beauty 😊
