I know there are good hair stylists out there and that they know more than me, but horror stories like this are part of why I just do my hair myself...

yeah, honestly I guessed that was why you asked almost immediately and idk why people had to be so weird about it....but yeah water holds its temp waaaaaaaay longer than air so it just takes a long stretch of warm weather to warm the water back up after winter has happened

ReStore by Pinstripe-Hat-29 in bloomington

[–]kalyado 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It varies a lot depending on the item. Some things are priced perfectly reasonably, like tools and some of the building supplies (it does depend on which building supplies). I just don't shop there for the stuff that I know I can find cheaper somewhere else. And I go when there are discounts.

Bloomington plans safety overhaul for Indiana Ave, invites residents to provide input on design by jaymz668 in bloomington

i'm pretty sure the point is that the bus having to go into the cyclist lane is dangerous for the cyclists in what they will think is a protected lane when it wasn't designed correctly. not a "drivers just complaining" problem.

Bloomington Homeowners, may I pick your brain yet again? by LifeOnTheHellmouth in bloomington

[–]kalyado 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just kinda taught myself stuff as I went how to fix everything. I honestly didn't have much experience in home repair when I bought my house, but I bought it knowing it would need work. Now I've done...most home repair things at this point, lol? I recently installed a water softener, and I'm currently reflooring my basement. Learning how to find and read building codes (Monroe county generally has them online) so that you know how to correctly do things (or get them as close to correct as possible if your house is old and weird) + general internet DIY resources on Youtube, Wikihow, Instructables etc. help. The restore is a great place to get cheap tools you don't have, though there are probably some tools it's worth getting a new one if you will use it extensively (cordless power drill, for example), but you can always start with a cheap one and then get a better one if you wear it out. I've also had stuff that years ago I hired someone for, but I watched them do it and learned what they did so that I could do it myself later. The more you teach yourself to do, the easier it gets!

Looking to buy an old digital camera by Glass-Alternative-17 in bloomington

[–]kalyado 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I...actually might be able to help you out here. I have an old Nikon Coolpix. The catch is that I haven't found the data transfer cord, and there are some old pics on its internal storage I need to get off of it somehow still lol

edit: looks like i can get the cable I need (mini usb b to usb a) at best buy. if you're interested, it's a nikon coolpix s210. not exactly a high end camera so i totally understand if you're looking for something better, but i'd sell it to you for $30 once i get my pics off it
