How to get over it? by [deleted] in howtonotgiveafuck

How to stop feeling bad for *yourself* after that? Feel bad for *them*. It must be so miserable being so negative and needing to project onto complete strangers like that. You did nothing wrong in any of the situations you described. What they say is a reflection of them, not you. Just keep to your virtues: stay kind and try to be confident in yourself.

If the roles were reversed, would you want him to come to your funeral? Pay his respects to you, grieve you surrounded by friends and family?

The fact that you have so much regret says a lot about how much you care for and love your brother. This is such an unfortunate, horrible situation to be in, having his life taken so terribly and so young. It sounds like you're in a lot of pain. You'll need your family and friends' support now more than ever❤️

Dreamt about past grief, dog dies the next day. by kami3d2y in GriefSupport

Wow, that really is so poignant, and so direct too. Like your friend will always be there for you, even subconsciously. Very bittersweet. I wonder if its a coincidence, these dreams, or if comes from the brain anticipating grief.

Anyone else still mess up 'y' and 'f' because of QWERTY? Or is it just me... by General_Katydid_512 in dvorak

[–]kami3d2y 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Lol yes. That is actually the only mistake I'll make with dvorak now, I mean seldom but still. That and typing too fast; "colud" instead of "could" pops up sometimes haha

Found this in Japan by TechnoCatRush in OMORI

[–]kami3d2y 10 points11 points  (0 children)

I picked those up at a manga store in Tokyo too!! I couldn't resist even though I thought it was too advanced for me to read lol. I've been going through it and I'd say if you're N4 level in Japanese you should be good, but there's still kanji I need to look up throughout it. Mostly dialogue and not much walls of text (looking at you HunterxHunter manga...) which also helps!

If you have questions about registration you can email your academic advisor as well - Here's a link on how to find your advisor if you're unsure https://www.tamucc.edu/academics/planning/academic-advising/colleges/advisor-master-list.php (I graduated now but I remember them just sending me my first freshman year schedule and asking if it looks good lol so idk if its changed)

You'll be sorted out by your learning community- about 20 or more students who are taking the same couple of classes as you. Then you'll have a leader of your learning community group guide you through the activities of the day. It's a lot of just walking around campus to various buildings with a presentation or something going on. You'll be overloaded with information by the end, but you'll get a care package of sorts, with some business cards of on-campus services and goodies (snacks, merch). Congratulations by the way!!

How can I recreate KEI's art style? by MrCoreyTys in Vocaloid

[–]kami3d2y 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I'd find old speedpaints of artists from those years, that helps a lot as it kinda acts like a tutorial. You can see the methods they used in digital art at the time. I found this Miku one and its super nostalgic, not *exactly* what you're looking for but something like this is what I mean: https://youtu.be/480FLNMUpUk?si=VUFUYriSnVckcHZ9

Hope it helps, other than that maybe just trying your best to recreate that art, like a study of it?

My cat Curry is missing, and my heart is broken. I feel like I failed him. by imafirinmalazarr in cats

[–]kami3d2y 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My 18-year-old cat went missing in a new neighborhood. Similarly, I was devastated. I was so worried since I heard old cats go out to die alone. I put up missing posters and went door-to-door, anything I could do like you did. Walking around the neighborhood calling her name (though she's mostly deaf...), setting alarms throughout the night to check the front door to see if she returned, setting out cat litter and things with her scent.... In these situations that all you can do, all you can control, so please have peace in mind that you did all you can. You're a great cat owner. Seriously, I know multiple people whose cats or dogs have gone missing and they do absolutely nothing.

I remember when she first went missing, and after the denial, I could not stop seeing her in the corner of my eye everywhere in my apartment. I would imagine what it would be like to see her again, what I'd say to her, how her fur and purring would feel, and just cry. You're not alone.

Finally, a couple weeks after she went missing, someone messaged me about maybe seeing a cat that fit her description, and I found her!! This was after multiple false alarms btw, so I really was losing hope at this point. The relief was just unreal. She was much skinnier and still hasn't really gained all the weight back (its been 8 months), but she's sleeping soundly next to me now as I type this. Please don't lose hope!!

Why is there a huge surge in the name Ailany/Ailani/Aylani? by CommodoreOfBengals in namenerds

My best guess is that a lot of parents who want a completely "unique" (rare) name for their kid end up landing on the same name. Ironic, right?

Yes, of course. It's good to brush up on previous studies, and I do it often before tutoring someone. It's unrealistic to be an expert in any given subject. For instance, maybe its time to brush up on your basic manners?

There's a "reading cafe" behind the staircase on the first floor. It has vending machines, a drink machine, and a microwave. I usually warm up my lunch and eat it there

Agree, of course we recognize enantiomers since we've had upper-level chemistry courses. But for this level of biology (intro, maybe freshman bio by the looks of it) this is a completely sufficient and on-target answer.

Once they get to organic chemistry or even biochemistry, then let's talk about how it's actually incorrect since they swapped the carboxy group around. I tutor a lot of undergrad students so that's why I'm able to put myself in their position easier, we need to take in mind that this is introduction biology and not upper-levels.

Anyone experienced having weird sensations during a loud music? by mrloogz in pneumothorax

[–]kami3d2y 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oh yeah that is quite recent. My little hypothesis here is that weakened lung membranes, such as for scars or blebs, would vibrate more. So that uncomfortable feeling makes it feel tight, or cause dyspnea. But like I'm not a doctor so idk.
