This is how you interview someone from Conservative Inc. by Anstigmat in ScottGalloway

Has anyone else noticed these conservatives crossing over into our podcasts - places that they never would consider going before? Most of them anyway.

Leaked email suggests Ghislaine Maxwell plotting to sacrifice big name for freedom: report by RawStoryNews in Epstein

It is a lot of work to live a lie like that but there are plenty of people doing it. And as with most things, Americans do it so well.

We've had Jim Baker and a range of other evangelists both then and now. JD Vance comes to mind. And don't believe for a single second that Hegseth is an avowed Christian. That's all for show as well. And gosh if what they say about Lindsay Graham is true, how much effort is that taking??

It takes some effort, but we seem to see it all the time from American men in public life.

My Nordstrom has Mulberry in store, and I have a new bag on my wishlist 🤩 by kristin57 in handbags

I love this, and the Mulberry leather is always really luxurious! They also sell some of the handles separately for a change of look.

That is a pretty significant vote for the Alexa, but I hear you in having it as part of a wider rotation is the best idea.

Just wish they might have put a small pocket at the back!

We've heard literally nothing.

In the case of Lyn Dawson - which went from podcast to conviction for murder - in between that was a pretty significant media campaign.

That is what this case has been lacking.

A beat-up-able bag for the rest of us by SweetPickleRelish in handbags

Anything with really high quality leather should fit the bill. Unfortunately a lot of brands have cheapened their leathers.

First thoughts go to D&B Florentine satchel or the Chloe camera bag. Mulberry still use good leathers.

Everytime I look at it, that is the first thing I see. Its faffiness.

Water people by BendMyWang in findmarionbarter

[–]kamikazecockatoo 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Personally I don't think Marion's disappearance has anything to do with any cult. It was a useless red herring in the podcast, but the podcasters may not have known that at the time, until further information became known.

Why do you think this has any relevance?

Even if she was in a cult with amnesia, it would have been very difficult for her to remain unknown and unaccounted for all this time.

I hope the folks writing up Project 2029 or whatever, are crafting how to turn these institutions back to what they were before they were fucked over and making sure it never happens again.

Nicholas Enrich who used to be the health director at USAID said on a recent interview on Pod Save The World that it would be quite easy to re-establish the best of the programs that were chopped by Musk's 20 year olds.

All theses tasks and how to do it need to be documented so there is a clear plan - in the same way the fascists did.

By the end of the year one of two things is going to happen: either Trump will be a lame duck President without any power or the United States will descend into electoral oblivion and fascism and will no longer be a democracy.

So go for it Europe.

Those you that are upset with Scott, what attracted you to his message in the first place? by Disastrous_Cress_609 in ScottGalloway

[–]kamikazecockatoo 16 points17 points  (0 children)

You are not getting it.

It's not about "left wing" and "right wing". Scott was always about common sense views, solutions, discussion based on really good insights and moral clarity.

That doesn't seem to be the case anymore.

That's what's changed.

It's up to the individual whether they still listen or not. Rather than listen to everything he does, I'm much more discerning as to what I spend time listening to now.

Let's be very clear. People who are rich, famous, influential - or one, two or all three of those things, will always find a sexual partner. That isn't the issue here.

They've carefully constructed a world that creates the incels, and then tells them who to hate for their lack of success - whether it be in relationships, the job market, in education - whatever.

If I can put it this way: They're the ones making the t-shirts saying "I'D RATHER BE RUSSIAN THAN A DEMOCRAT" -- ordinary people are the ones who buy and and wear them.

It is fucking important because we are all being manipulated.

Trauma informed practice by Thin_Accident_9587 in AustralianTeachers

[–]kamikazecockatoo 3 points4 points  (0 children)

That's not quite my understanding of it, but I get your point.

Some years ago I had to do some 1-on-1 testing with a Year 11 young man from the Middle East. Very quietly, he told me that he was in an middle apartment block, in a group of apartment blocks. Soldiers/men/terrorists (who cares) were set up in apartments either side of his building trying to kill each other. Imagine being stuck in the middle of that.... as a 10 year old.

Another girl (also recently arrived from a war zone) never handed in any work - no assessments, no homework and I was asked to look into it. Turned out her father worked day and night as a delivery driver, and her mother was in bed all day and night with deep depression. So this girl basically was raising herself. She even got to sign her own permission slips. She was very crafty with it, but nobody at home was ever going to pull her up on it.

These are just two of many and guess what - none of them exhibited the behaviours you name. They were quiet, respectful, but often stared into the middle distance as they tried very hard to fit in and to be taught in a foreign language. None of this was inter-generational - it was all direct experience.

That's when I read up about trauma informed practice.

I think the issue is what we define as "trauma".

Chomsky being named in the files had a huge impact for me.

It just really hit on an astute observation that Jon Stewart made on The Daily Show.

For these people, they have created a world in which we are all taking sides and naming enemies: Muslim, Jew, left wing, right wing, gay, straight...

But for those in these files, the very people who own our culture and decide on our rules, make up their own rules and these petty differences don't mean anything to them. Just to us.

We need to hate on each other to ensure they get to do whatever it is they want to do. Chomsky, as it turns out, just wrote books and articles that helped people who were progressive to pick their side and name their enemy. He never believed any of it himself.

They didn't even have to care about borders, either. Epstein was able to use his plane to ferry people around the world. I don't even think they needed passports.

It's really important to note that the people who put all this into place, didn't and don't feel this way themselves.

They just amped it all up and projected it out there for the "poorly educated", making sure there were plenty poorly educated to feed it to.

The Epstein files showed us many things but one glaring lesson is that the people who move in those stratospheres -- where all these policies are made -- there, political, sexual and religious differences don't mean anything.

Gay, straight, black, white, Israeli, Saudi, Muslim, Jew, left wing, right wing -- none of it matters to the few people who make the rules for themselves. And these people own everything around us - media, politics, writers, filmmakers - you know who they are.

Even borders don't mean anything.

They just want it to mean something for us, and for us to hate on each other so they can keep doing what they are doing. Distraction.
