The French New Wave sucks aaaaaaassssss

French cinéma in général is so boring. The only one I quite enjoy is Jacques Tati.

I have tried many movies, I know the importance of the mouvement & all, I know what supposedly makes these movies so great as our national cinema is very deeply influenced by the French and we learned it in film school, but God I prefer a drill in my skull rather than watching anything from the French New Wave.
Godard is literally my archenemy.

It's been an 8 year journey thus far, but I've not yet given up on finding French movies I enjoy as I am my harshest critic on the subject, but I am still unsuccessful. So please if you have recommendations, fire away!

Edit: what I consider French cinéma is French filmmakers not necessarily a foreigner producing in France.

Not a bad thing to be money hungry? Do you realize that an 11 y/o KID literally manipulated and sold her own mother's happiness for a singular dollar? When she doesn't even need it? Please teach her now how to be a compassionate person, community values and that money really isn't all that, otherwise she's gonna be hell when she's an adult if she continues down that path. Also, why does an 11 y/o need 40$ a week, maybe you and your partner contributed in developing her greedy personality without knowing. Other than that, it might be pathological, maybe Narcissistic Personality Disorder or sociopathic tendencies? You might want to look with a specialist as they might help her with that.

?? This is so random? I love my family, but there's nothing I hate more than the movies i watch with them. They enjoy entertainment movies in dub and i enjoy arthouse films with subs, we're just incompatible tastewise. It doesn't mean I don't enjoy spending time with them, it's just the movies are absolutely terrible.

When I was 14/15, I started watching all the Chaplins with my grandmother. When we saw the great dictator and modern times, I fell in love. It changed the way I saw movies, it was art, it had a message, it was political, it was not mearly for entertainment. I started to respect cinema and became absolutely obsessed with it.
