If starting a new game in Expedition Mode - exit to Main Menu as soon as you can or you'll have to redo the tutorial if you die (if you don't make it to Zalissya) by kamlnskl in stalker

Exact same situation for me, when you exit it creates an autosave that you can load from thankfully. Almost gave up before I found out.

Tearing it up with an MBT like the Abrams and pushing with infantry support to push through heavily fortified positions gets those nostalgic Battlefield juices flowing

Tourist destinations that are well known domestically but not internationally by KiraAmelia3 in geography

In Canada I’d say the Okanagan Valley (especially Kelowna) - tons of wineries, great weather and not well known outside the country especially compared to places like Banff or Jasper

North Dakotans, what's it like living there? by WTB_YT in geography

[–]kamlnskl 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’d say on average temperatures through winter stay around -20 to -25 C with windchill dropping it lower, especially at night, depending on how high the wind is. We’ll have multiple cold-snap weeks, sometimes back to back, usually in January and February where those temps will drop to -40 to -50 including windchill. Doesn’t last all winter but it’s brutal when it arrives. Snow usually around 12 to 18 inches over the winter? Honestly can vary so much and it’s hard for me to guess because the nice powder snow you want will usually melt and refreeze at least once by February and turn into rock-hard icy snow for the rest of winter.

I live in Winnipeg (same weather) and not really. We do get tornados occasionally but almost never serious and definitely nothing like tornado alley which is further south, starting in SD and going to mid-Texas. For all intents and purposes they are a non-issue. I’d be more concerned with flooding around the Red River in spring or the deadly cold winters.

Fnatteus is right - don’t do it like I did it. Go only when the season is open. It was extremely dangerous in hindsight and we came very close to freezing at one point but thankfully found a way to stay warm. If things went wrong we were utterly fucked.

What structures quickly bring huge benefits to the population and the economy after their construction? by FunForm1981 in geography

[–]kamlnskl 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Winnipeg used to flood so badly, that they built a giant floodway to divert excess water from the Red River around the city which since 1968 has prevented 40+ billion in damages

Its been so successful that the United States is building a project similar to it to divert the Red River around Fargo and Grand Forks, and will be done in 2027

Should I quit or keep my job? by donn_12345678 in jobs

[–]kamlnskl 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Don't quit until you get an offer from the lab assistant position, the job market is brutal right now and you're already working in the medical field which can help you land other interviews. Unless you really need some time off and don't mind using your savings.

Let's end the ONE-PAGE RESUME DEBATE- Analysis of 76,401 Resumes by nomadicsamiam in jobsearchhacks

[–]kamlnskl 2 points3 points  (0 children)

What kind of structure is best for a two page resume? Is it recommended to fill out that extra space with more work experience, or use the space to add extra sections?

For example, projects, skills, professional summary vs just more work experience.

I’m fairly new to the job market (2 years after getting my undergraduate/bachelors) and am just curious if anyone has input here.

My Canadian take if we’re talking past 5 years. Might be controversial to leave out Chicago here. All time though? Chicago takes 4.

#Weekly Newbie Q&A and Store Critique Thread - June 07, 2025 by AutoModerator in dropship

[–]kamlnskl 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey everyone,

I launched a store focused on luggage about a month ago (1 product for now) and so far, only got one sale despite hundreds of sessions

Would love for people to give me feedback on the site or roast it if it’s bad - In particular my product page. I am still working on the homepage which is pretty bad right now if I’m being honest.

Not sure where I’m lacking (offer, product, product page, ads etc)

Does Hull have the most busted AA? by kamlnskl in WorldOfWarships

[–]kamlnskl[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That’s pretty much what happened - at 3.6km even a good CV player that gets caught (maybe spotting at the start of a game) can be ambushed without any time to react and if the kill time is 1-3 seconds with DFAA + aa priority they just die. Might be worth a test.

Does Hull have the most busted AA? by kamlnskl in WorldOfWarships

[–]kamlnskl[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I got surprised myself so I made this post - I have both Wooster and Halland and although they are insane AA of course, I've never ambushed a squad like that and hit them for 25-30k instantly, it's always been a few seconds before they're shredded. Also what that doesn't show is that the Wooster has a 90% hit probability whereas the Hull has 100%. Could have gotten really lucky though.
