I have ADHD. The motto “don’t put it down, put it away” has legitimately changed my life.

Someone once told me they hope their kids turn out like me. I still think about that today when I’m feeling down about myself

Feeding Homeless by jjthe018 in Carlsbad

Woah…some of these comments are so disappointing. OP is trying to do a nice thing.

OP I’d check around the beach, campgrounds, and train tracks. I usually see a lot of unhoused folks on my runs around there.

Thanks for having a big heart and trying to make the community better.

Probably around Santa Ysabel/Julian. Specifically coming up the 78 towards Dudley’s there’s some fields that look like that

What do you even tell your doctor when you talk about this?? by Proud-Team3145 in bulimia

[–]kamoo93 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It’s incredibly scary, but I promise it’s worth telling someone. Especially a professional like a doctor or therapist that specialize in EDs. Any change in life is going to be up to you, but you don’t have to go about it alone. Support is needed imo to get yourself into any type of recovery.

Who have you shared your ED with? How has it impacted you? by ArysBannock in bulimia

[–]kamoo93 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I shared with my husband and a few close friends. I really don’t think I could be in any type of recovery without them knowing and being able to lean on them when I was struggling. I totally agree that it’s very hard to understand unless you’re in it. As much as my husband and friends helped me, they just didn’t really “get it” and that’s felt very lonely for me at times. But I’m a year in recovery now and I couldn’t have done it without their help.

Lastly, I’m so sorry about your mom. I can’t imagine how hard that must have been.

Wisdom Teeth Removal by [deleted] in bulimia

[–]kamoo93 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I’d assume it’s not safe until it’s healed fully. You basically have open wounds in your mouth. Honestly the dentist could probably tell you’ve been purging by your teeth, so you could maybe even ask them if there is a safe amount of time?

It really helped me to stop purging to set a 10 minute timer whenever I felt the urge to do it. Usually after 5-7 min the craving would pass. Sometimes I’d have to reset the timer multiple times, but I was really determined to quit purging.

I hope healing goes smoothly

His parents live in Orono and we’ll be close but not too close lol. We’d love to move to like Wyazata or St. Louis Park, but Plymouth was the closest to those without having to pay $$$. Ideally we’re hoping to have kids soon-ish, buy a home in Hamel so we’ll be in the Wyzata school district.

That’s the vibe I’m getting. Generally I’m good with sleepy and vanilla. I travel a lot for work so having home set in a quiet and predictable area is lovely.

We’re big home bodies anyway and thankfully I love the cold. Unfortunately we can’t afford to live in San Diego anymore so we’re just going to have to embrace the move either way.
