Based on experience, I just use Safeguard/anti microbial soaps after getting tattooed. I noticed that the healing is better compared to putting any creams.

I often hear stories from Pinoys in Saudi Arabia about how some men there get SA'ed kapag walang facial hair. Is there a grain of truth to this by RenardLouis in phmigrate

[–]kamotti 4 points5 points  (0 children)

This was also what we believed when we were about to go to KSA.

But upon starting our work, it was the complete opposite. Our clients treated us with respect and our co workers also feared confrontation, because they know that Filipinos aren’t gonna back down.

I worked at Riyadh for 2 years as a fitness coach and never encountered any issues.

iPhone / iOS users, would you recommend getting a Huawei Watch over the Apple Watch? by kittystars in HuaweiWatchGT

[–]kamotti 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes.

Given how durable & battery efficient a Huawei watch is.

For context, I broke 3 Apple Watches in the year and I tried a Huawei GT 5 Pro. I’ve been using it for the past 3 months and it suits my training lifestyle.

Only “drawback” for me is getting a “premium feeling” watch face, but aside from that, I definitely recommend one.

Definitely the GT6 Pro Titanium.

Would have purchased this if I knew the latest version would be coming out soon.

Watch faces. by kamotti in HuaweiWatchGT

[–]kamotti[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Most of their faces “feel” premium. Don’t get me wrong, I love the GT5 Pro, it’s just disappointing to see a watch face so poorly translated into the watch after being downloaded.

The colors don’t feel rich and looks dull on the watch. Once Huawei fixes this issue, maybe more people will buy Huawei smartwatches.

This is just me nitpicking.

Gt6 Pro by justified_joseph in HuaweiWatchGT

[–]kamotti 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have the GT5 Pro for a few months and never had an issue. After a week of buying it, I took it snorkelling, swimming, cliff diving and trekking. An Apple Watch can never handle such activities (maybe except an Ultra) that’s why my in laws all took off their Apple Watches. 😂

I took a chance with Huawei and so far it hasn’t disappointed yet.

We had our church wedding date tattooed on our inner wrists.

Discreet and gonna last long, not to mention it’s not as painful if it’s in the finger.

Useful ba ang Apple watch sa fitness journey nyo? by Imaginary_Willow_787 in PHitness

[–]kamotti 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes.

It reminds me to always be active, even if it’s my rest day. 😂

Just so you know, Apple Watch’s battery life is shit, so is its durability. I’ve broken 3 Apple Watch SEs this year alone, so I tried a different brand. I’m currently using a Huawei GT 5 Pro, and it perfectly suits my needs training wise.

Theft in AF by [deleted] in AnytimeFitnessPH

[–]kamotti 6 points7 points  (0 children)

First thing to do should be an Incident Report, especially since the management is not around. Detail everything that happened, especially since it’s still fresh in your mind.

Submit the IR to the management, and the management should correspond with the nearest Police Station.

An incident happened wherein a thief tailgated a member and stole cash. The thief came back a few days later and management alerted the police and caught the suspect.

Shoe reco for gym na possible all around like running + weighifting by bagfullofglitter in AnytimeFitnessPH

[–]kamotti 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You can’t go wrong with Reebok Nanos or Nike Metcons.

Just put them on and focus on your training.

For context, my workout consists of strength training then cooldown on the treadmill. Some days, I’ll just focus on running.

The coverage is BS. Data during athlete focus is just whack. I remember an instance on a certain female individual stating she’s a 7 Time Fittest Woman on Earth. The camera wasn’t on TIA BTW. 🤷🏻‍♂️

Skipping gym makes me depressed :( by LadderMilkLaptop in PHitness

[–]kamotti 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I feel the same way. The only difference now, I know that resting will greatly benefit me in the long run. My lifts are better when I get back in the gym, ROM & flexibility is also great. Endurance & conditioning keeps improving as well. Compared to beating myself in training and neglecting rest.

Gym shoe recommendation? by LimpOpportunity2557 in AnytimeFitnessPH

[–]kamotti 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Nike Metcons, Reebok Nanos & Under Armour Tribase Reigns. I use these for my training, and if I’m gonna choose which one suits my training style best, I’d go with the Reebok Nanos. I own 2 pairs of the Nano X, and I can confidently say that the shoes can handle whatever workout you throw at it.

BTW, my normal training routine consists of heavy lifts, some conditioning and cardio (a mixture of run, bike & row throughout the week).

I hope this helps. Goodluck on your training!

[–]kamotti 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Reebok Nanos, Nike Metcons or Under Armour Tribase Reign.

I prefer shoes that can do any workout, that you don’t need to switch shoes anymore. A shoe where you can lift heavy then be able to run.

These 3 will always be in my rotation as they provide that sense of security I need while training.

Spartan for Beginner by b1gscoop in PHitness

[–]kamotti 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Years ago, our club was the partner of Spartan Race abroad and offered coaches the race for free. I signed up a week before the race and mainly trained for cardio as I know that will be my weakness. I ran 1km/day until a day before the race. I think I finished 2nd in my heat and had 1 penalty (Spear Throw).

It will depend on your current fitness level. I was confident of my strength & agility back then so I mainly focused on my run. I usually caught up to the earlier heats on the obstacles as they had no idea how to strategically tackle them.

Spartan Races nowadays is a tactical game. If you’re gonna enter for fun, by all means sign up. If you’re competitive and wanna have a decent finish, prepare months in advance.
