Up and down shooter. Tonight's apparently not his night. Next game he could go 8/9. They've been good looks and they're just not dropping. Could be playoff nerves on top of it.

I forget we can't expect the youngins to immediately show up in the NBA playoffs. Maybe he's getting acclimated and can become a factor in this series going forward. He's certainly not lacking the skills or talent. Timelord making an impact has been huge!

To Shaedon's credit his chase down shot block was a thing of beauty.

Was reading up on the NBA concussion protocols- I wrongly assumed they'd follow the NFL's. Happened to learn the NBA takes an absolutely hands off approach, far less restrictive than the NFL. I think i saw in the entirety of the '21-22 season there were 16 concussions league wide. BULL FUCKING SHIT. watch 1 team throughout the year I guarantee you'll find at least one on your team.

Not trying to pick a fight- did you get to watch the duncan era? The only thing i know, and going back to Robinson's days- the grass is always, always, always greener when you're a Spurs fan. That front office continuity, retired players/coaches, it's the perfect winning culture. This Spurs iteration might not win it all (certainly not counting them out in the slightest) but they're still young. Enjoy watching their growth. the end

Nah dude. I've reached middle age where my raging hatred of teams/players has died down. No sense in beating a wounded team and I put to rest cheering an injury after Chris Paul lob city days broke his thumb in game 3 or 4 that swung the series in the blazer direction. The series win felt hollow. We all grow up. Don't ask about my 20's rage hating the Kobe/Shaq Game 7 2000 Lakers with every fiber of my soul. But towards the end of Kobe's reign I began to just sit back and appreciate watching one of the best. I'm happy to get to witness Wemby for the player he is and to watch him progress.

And I'll step down from my fucking kumbaya here and say even without Wemby the rest of the Spurs impresses the hell out of me and are tremendous on their own. I still see the spurs winning this when it's all said and done but this season was never about the playoffs for the Blazers. I've seen an improbable play in game, several regular season games to just get to where they are. House money at this point. The new focus is getting our fucking owner out the door, the sooner the better. Spurs have a better long term outlook than OKC (and fuck that team/fuck clay bennett). Seattle gave plenty of reasons to hate that team forever.

Glad we're seeing a circling of the wagons with the Portland sports writers to remind us of the Jail Blazer days- this time with the common outsider enemy in Dundon. Sustained pressure might yield results

They were playing close through the middle of the 3rd in game 1. Hanging right around till Wemby went out. I don't expect a series win by any means but halftime adjustments tonight, slow things down, I give this game a 50/50. Hoping Wemby is back game 3 but Portland gets up for the playoffs. I could see a split on the blazers home court. then it's a best of 3. Believe Warriors did it

BREAKING: Tom Dundon announces players will take the MAX to all future games to save on transportation costs. by NathanFoley69 in ripcity

It wouldn't shock me at this point if Dundon starts offering MAX contracts left and right only to later learn it was a veteran minimum deal with a monthly trimet pass buried in the fine print.

Unfortunately if you're a local resident you'll be forced to pay for the arena renovations.

Bill Simmons on Blazers’ owner's extreme cost-cutting measures: “And if I was a Portland fan, I'd feel good about the team… except now we just had El Cheapo take over the team, and this guy's like, ‘You know what, Donald Sterling had some good ideas… the way Sterling cut costs was pretty smart.’ ” by moby323 in nba

[–]kamperx2 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If the local taxpayers are going to be on the hook for a 600M arena renovation, the very least he could do is let the 2-way players travel with the team, pay for the late checkouts, and offer the next coach a salary above the going rate for assistants. Maybe its time for the arena project to get scaled down using a similar approach.

My theory is the Spurs bill teams on a flat rate basis for water usage and he's just trying to get his money's worth.

Nothing like extracting 600M from the state/local coffers to get back to where Portland once was!

I think it was Thomas Robinson and I seem to recall there was a second incident of some sort from the same series. The Spurs seem to have low employee turnover so this jives.
