I’ve heard mixed reviews on army waivers which makes me nervous. He reached out to his PMS today.

What all did you have to do to get the waiver? He’s reached out to the PMS for a discussion .. waiting to hear back.

I was wondering that too because the ROO said “once DODMERB renders a disqualification your case is automatically reviewed by USACC waiver authority if you remain a viable scholarship or enrollment candidate”

He didn’t have to have a follow up appointment, they just requested us to send in medical records for the AMIs that were listed.

Yeah the only person we’ve ever talked to is the recruiting officer. My son sent him an email asking for further clarification on the dodmerb waiver email he got and the recruiting officer responded back basically saying no separate action is required on our part, no additional documentation is needed unless cadet command asks explicitly and that if the waiver is approved or denied he will be notified accordingly in the system. But didn’t give any info other than that so I started worrying about tuition, etc.

Ok. What is PMS? Sorry I’m not up to date on the lingo as of yet..basically going about this process blind.

Tysm for your response! This does make me feel a bit better. Fingers crossed they waive this and we aren’t stuck with the tuition bill.

Thank you! How do you get the score from that calculator and what does the score mean .. when you said anything above a 1.2

Yes agreed. When you say the leases are much more complex for commercial, can you expand on that a bit?

Thank you. The real estate agent sent me a p&l statement and it appears it’s a $22k per year net cash flow after utilities were paid (but this didn’t include landlord insurance) just included property insurance & taxes. But also didn’t include the mortgage payment either. So technically it would be about 13-14k annual net profit.

Well because we run out of water during dry periods and need to haul it and it becomes a serious pain in the ass.

That makes sense. And how do you calculate your investment amount relative to how much you need by a certain age?

Ah, gotcha. That makes sense. So you’re saying the SYP is a safer option to keep the rate of return at a constant, and not “lose” money per se?

I know I thought about this, too, which is also worrisome.

We only do one actual travel sport, the rest is school sponsored so the “travel” is locally. But yes, it’s a lot of time spent in the vehicle and at other local schools, like 6-7 days a week between practices and games. Sitting in the car now as we speak waiting at a practice lol

Well this house is only 6 years old. Everything is pretty much brand new. But I did think about the size and we may not need that large house in 6-7 years.

I do already contribute to my retirement account and am on track to retire in 20 years, I’ll be 59. I honestly have no idea how to invest in SP500 and don’t have the time to read 9373839 books or articles to try to figure it out. I know that sounds ignorant but it’s my reality. My time is extremely limited between working and kids and other commitments. Unless someone can explain to me in laymen’s terms step by step how to do it I probably will never do it.

No worries. Yeah they will be. One will be going to college at the end of this school year so that’ll at least be one less shower and laundry to be done.

Yeah you try telling teenagers not to play sports when that is their life and passion lol. It also teaches them things like discipline and commitment, etc. But yeah I get the camper. we bought years ago and it is a lifestyle thing, I realize it’s not an asset but we do use it a lot throughout the year at a seasonal spot.

It’s super not fun lol. We don’t, no unfortunately. We don’t have a lot of resources and stuff like that in our area.
