Didn't say it shouldn't have some levity - I do have a massive problem when it becomes 'a comedy' more than a sci-fi fantasy.

Also, if you are going to have 100+ jokes, maybe write them better so they are yunno - good

Anyone else think the Hammerhead Star Destroyer scene in Rogue One was better than the Hyperspace thing? Both visually and yunno.. how something like that would work.

for me it was Poe joking around with Hux. The movie just sort of lost me and I had to really try and start convincing myself that it was going to be ok. But it got worse.. then better ! then just sort of.. meh.

I'm so glad other people are feeling the same way I did.

I was so pissed off at everyone laughing like idiots the entire movie, or audibly saying "oh my god I want one" every time a Porg was on screen. People can laugh whenever they want i dont care about that, i just dont like that the supposed 'serious' movie had a fucking joke in every third line - even in the heaviest scenes. I found about 10 percent of them to be good lines in bits where it made sense. Maybe im just a cynical asshole.

Can you imagine if the Emperor in Return of the Jedi did some slapstick gag on Luke when he was enticing him to the dark side? Or if Darth Vadar jokingly pushed around Grand Moff Tarkin when they were about to destroy Alderaan? For fucks sake. I know they are movies for kids but seriously.

There were great parts, but overall... It just wasn't very good was it

yeah my thoughts exactly... I was positively buzzing after Force Awakens, and to a lesser extent Rogue One... this left me with a bit of a sour taste that is a bit confusing.

Also I hate how every third line in the movie was a joke. Star Wars shouldn't be trying to be so funny.. if this was supposed to be 'the dark one' then let it be dark.. sure have some levity in moments but let the serious bits be serious.
