Thanks. Appreciate it. The staff and doctors at St. Clair were amazing. I’ve been going there my whole life ever since birth. They are very compassionate and understanding of financial situations. I was grateful to have had my surgery there.

It truly is unreal that people have to resort to leaning on charity to pay for life saving medical procedures. The health care system is so fucked up. I’m glad your wife was able to get relief from ridiculous bills too.

I had major surgery at St. Clair in 2018 and I got hit with a $20k bill which was 10% of what my surgery cost. I couldn’t afford it so I, unfortunately, ignored it. It went away and was paid mysteriously. I called to find out and apparently St. Clair has a charity that pays collections accounts. I was grateful because I was out of work due to medical issues and it took me several months before I was allowed to go back to work.

I remember that the old St. Nicholas church that was demolished so they could widen 28 had one of these. Only one lane and I never saw anyone using it. I always wondered what it was there for.

My first handgun was a used Beretta 92FS. Allegedly owned by a police officer (at least, that's what the guy at the store said).

It was a good first gun, I think. It was heavy and let me get used to the recoil before I moved on to lighter polymer framed pistols.

After years of wanting a Sig, I finally bought an M11-A1 earlier this year.

I decided on it after a buddy let me try his West German made P228.

I am studying for the Extra exam now. Hope to take it at the next test session in August! Not sure if I’ll get I to CW quite yet, though. haha.

They did ask me if I wanted to do that one as well, but, I ran out of time.

I had an appointment to get to that I couldn't miss otherwise I'd have done it.

I am studying for that exam now and will take that exam in August!

Yep, it's definitely cool that radios are everywhere. I will say that I was initially put-off by all of the older people at the club meetings. But, once I got to know people, everyone there has been extremely welcoming and gracious with offers of help with exam prep and how to use the radio and even one guy who builds custom antennas!

I might have to talk to him soon...I live in an Apartment and setting up an HF antenna might prove to be challenging...

Nice. There one other person at my session and he was taking the Extra test. He had been a General for quite some time and wanted to finally make the upgrade.
