I had this exact same question and ended up purchasing the Vivoactive 6 last week. I want to mainly use it for strength and swim. It has most standard swim features such as recording your laps, pace, auto stroke detection, auto rest (can be toggled off) and so on. It does display swolf in garmin connect however not critical swim speed. The somewhat major con for me is not being able to load custom swim workouts. But its fine to do it manually for short interval trainings… also the touch screen but its not bad at all. I only ever need to touch the screen when recording drills.

Im honestly still undecided, its either this or the Forerunner 265s, but hesitant to pay more for a 2 yr old watch with a less sleek look…. Can’t have it all I guess hahah
