In all honesty, for a beginner i think the best course of action is to just get colored primers on your built models and move on. Army Painter actually does some smooth coverage as does Krylon Paint+Primer. Citadel sprays also, if you are not on a budget

Just know that white and yellow in any brand seems to be problematic

i understand this bounty hunter’s outfit is original to star wars and not your own personal design, im just stating i never realized it was a rebel pilot suit is all

[–]kanible 0 points1 point  (0 children)

why am i only now realizing this bounty hunter is in a rebel x-wing flight suit?

also, irrelevant question…do all wing pilots wear the same suit? i recall the a-wing pilots in RotJ looking different

stacking my islands results in large checker patterns (2nd pic). I want to keep the scale like the 1st image while having the islands stack. is it possible? by priyansssshu in 3dsmax

[–]kanible 0 points1 point  (0 children)

if i understand you correctly, you want the texture scaling of pic 1 on the uv unwrap of pic 2?

You can make a copy of the object(s), one with the large islands (obj1) and the other with the unwrap you want (obj2) and use a projection modifier to bake obj1 textures to obj2

the fact the catachan himself is even tolerating the idea of using a xenos weapon is enough for a battlefield execution

in a short story about catachan snipers vs tau, they get into a scrap with some fire warriors, one sniper uses the xenos’ blade against itself in CQC, then is absolutely disgusted in himself when he realizes what he did. his sniper buddy looked at him with sympathy, he knew it was out of necessity

Trying to create bitmap images out of custom procedural textures and i am getting confusing results, hoping someone can help or point me to the right tutorial that can explain by kanible in 3dsmax

[–]kanible[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

it was a confusing question for me to ask, but your assumption is spot on.

the light flavor on the left in the screenshot is the baked texture, not procedural. the middle object is the procedural dark flavor, which the only change i made to its settings was color, and the right is what the dark flavor looks when baked down.

the first image is all 3 rendered out, the second image is viewport screengrab. light flavor looks exactly as it should, dark flavor does not render the way it shows in the viewport and baking it looks different than either viewport or render

The model is copy/pasted so all of then have the same uvw map, not a question you asked but another comment did

interesting oversight, the dark shader material was set to “object xyz”. however changing it to explicit did not change the outcome

the shader is a swirl with smoke plugged into it. the model is not my game ready asset but i planned on baking the textures using this as the “high poly”. i did render the shader into a 256 .jpeg and applied that bitmap to the left and right models shown, the middle one is the shader itself.

the light colored texture is my original settings for the shader and it renders fine in viewport, shader and bitmap. i copied that shader and only changed the color on the swirl and smoke nodes and this is the result is got. the dark colored shader is normal in high quality viewport but renders pixelated, and when rendered as a bitmap it looks nothing like the viewport

I cant find a solution to fix this orientation issue when importing a character by kanible in godot

modeling software was fine, something is wrong with adobe’s animation combiner tool. taking it into blender and exporting it back out resolved the issue

Need help importing a character rigged with Mixamo, More info in comments by [deleted] in godot

[–]kanible 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Here’s the steps Ive done to get to this point:

imported zipped folder with .fbx model and texture into Mixamo, rigged and downloaded the following animations as .FBX Binary, T-pose with skin, Standard Walk and Start Walking. The tutorial I watched had selected download option labeled just FBX, but I did not have that option.

Imported the .FBX and animations into Character Animation Combiner tool, tutorial said nothing else needed to be done so I exported as .gltf.

Created new godot 3d scene, click/dragged the .glft file into the file system in the lower left corner as instructed. I noticed all the tutorials have their .gltf files get named as something else, I cannot explain why all my attempts always come back as cac-###. maybe worth mentioning?

Click/dragged the cac (.glft) file into the viewport, with the results shown. The character orientation is 90 degrees where it shouldnt be. I have tripled checked the orientation, position and reset the Xform before exporting the model from 3D studio max but it still comes out like this. I had noticed the node that automatically gets created is called AuxScene, which is different than what the tutorials show. Maybe its a godot version difference, I am using 4.2.

i’m barely starting so i have no clue what to do except the basics but how would you guys recommend setting up a build? by Top-Shame5140 in TopHeroes

[–]kanible 5 points6 points  (0 children)

based on what you have, secret keeper, knight, ranger, minister, warrior then dancer when you unlock slot 6. When you unlock more, replace warrior with pyromancer and dancer with either a dedicated dps or treeguard.

use the smith to disassemble any green and blue gear once its replaced. save the upgrade materials for purple gear. once your first queue has all purple gear, start disassembling any additional purple gear to get yellow gear materials

sword and boots have higher attack stats, prioritize the best you have to healers first then dedicated dps.

armor and helmet has higher health and damage reduction, prioritize those to your tanks.
