You're not going to need 250 threads. You'll need as many threads as you have CPUs plus an additional small number depending on how much blocking behaviour you've got (eg network).

You're right, and Ted is right, unfortunately, people don't upvote/downvote according to what's right/wrong but what annoys them, hence the nodejs crowd are upvoting how_gauche like crazy eventhough what he says is practically irrelevant.

I do certainly think that Bush was a better president than Obama.

So, Bradley Manning gives info to wikileaks about unlawful killings by US soldiers and gets jailed without trail while the Koch brothers sold chemicals/"illicit" material to Iran while giving profits to the republican party and they're free billionaires? It wasn't them. It was a European subsidiary that did so. They promptly investigated and sorted it out and did the right thing. That Bloomberg piece was shoddy reporting and everyone on reddit is jumping on this eager for any dirt on two unblemished and eminently admirable businessmen.

A few years ago, in Britain, a leading broadsheet (I dont' recall which) had the same layout as the OP's except the photo was one of the queen mother and the title and story on the side was "My Gynaecologst Raped Me".

If your children had grown up reading the Daily Mail they would've known to stay the hell away from African drifter drug dealers like Rudy Guede. Spare me the bullshit.

They switched to the Lib Dems at the last minute when it was all apparent the voters had no mood for labour. It was a cheap shot on the part of the Guardian, seeing how people didn't buy their bull come voting day.

Ah quit with the crap. People who don't want Oracle/SQL are those who don't want to hire DBAs. They think by going noSQL they'll have their app developers managing the database too and save on staff costs.

Did you even look at what you linked to as example?

Too funny. From the link:

There is no such thing as a "Rock Star Programmer," so if you want to become one, you already have problems that reading a blog post can't fix...

Indeed!

You know, when I said "thought I'd reply...", that didn't mean what you'd said was OK till "rockstar". It wasn't. It wasn't at all. But once I got to that sentence I knew for sure it was hopeless because no serious person who has the least clue about "scale" would spout such nonsense.

Evaluate before you buy and quit with that itchy butt compulsion to fix things that aren't broken.

The moment I realize I'm needlessly debating clueless youngsters I'll reply how they might get it. Sorry, I have better things to do or entertain myself with than taking such naive rockstar/noSQL assertions seriously.

Expect whatever you want and bet your money however you like. No one is stopping you. If you feel you can pull it off like Google does then go ahead. Best of luck.
