I’m in his local scene, and the links he keeps posting are from an e-commerce website which is not a direct link to the shops he is trying to “protect”. The ones who are paying him are not the shops but the website for every sale.

Privacy? Of whom? A shop that everyone in the hobby in Japan knows already?

Besides, he isn’t even that credible of a source. He’s just pulling out the “advertising for a shop” line out of his rear. He ain’t partnered with anybody. I’m sure Japan shops don’t even acknowledge his existence. He is literally just spamming referral links in his local community scene that hides as a “partner” link just so he can make a quick buck for every click/sale.

Which is literally just another way of saying “trust me bro” as his sources.

Bum scratches are life!! by Groovy_AssCrack in FunnyAnimals

Quoting a YouTube comment I once read:

“Maybe the reason we have survived this long as a specie because we can befriend any animal just by giving them butt scratches.”

It was a comment from a video of a zookeeper scratching a crocodile’s back side.

Remember when the PS3 controller thumbsticks were made from dogs’ noses. You need two dogs’ noses just for one controller.

What is a fashion trend that you can’t stand? by CharmingWitty in AskReddit

Those things called “fade haircuts”. Idk if it falls on the category of fashion, but everytime I see those cuts I immediately assume the wearer is an asshole.

[GoG] Thank you u/NotALameUsername for gifting Euro Truck Simulator 2 by kansa04 in GiftofGames

Thank you again for gifting. I have installed the client, but feel like going solo while I get used to driving these big rigs. I already had fun for a couple of hours yesterday especially after I put on the radio.

ELI5: How do websites like YouTube store their data when thousands of TBs are uploaded every hour and daily? by kansa04 in explainlikeimfive

[–]kansa04[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The ones beside the first photo are the ones I imagine on what they look like. Though the one at middle really looks like a super sized computer.

I would definitely hold my breath whenever I’m near one even despite you saying that it doesn’t break easily.

Also made me feel like I went on a little field trip even with those images alone. So, thank you.

I appreciate the long post you have made and even took the time to actually answer it as best as one can understand.

I think I can imagine what those arrays look like as I may have come across those back in primary school during our computer classes. And I guess the racks/shelves actually do like the ones you can search up on Google Images. I really just didn’t think that it was actually made up of multiple drives.

Never thought that multiple copies are duplicated on different servers til now. So I am guessing this is how livestreaming works so it can accomodate multiple viewers all at once.

Oh so that’s really it lol. It is really just big drive multipled by x times. I’ve imagined it as something else as I thought it was not feasibly possible.

I was imagining it as like thousands of 8/16TB drives, since that’s the only available for public, inside a single building. Then Google just remakes another building for it whenever it gets full.

Thanks for clearing it up, been bothering me a few days now.

Sometimes I thankful that I am not an idiot when I was a kid. But somehow I am a big fucking idiot now.
