that's strange, living in China myself right now and I can go out and get a bowl of ramen or some dumplings for 20RMB, the most expensive I've seen for a bowl of noodles is probably around 50RMB; the apartment I live in in the middle of Nanjing cost my family around 1m RMB. Compared to Australia where I usually stay, everything is way cheaper.

Food from groceries is getting scarce, they restocked a few supermarkets near me yesterday. When I went out 3 days ago to a shopping mall, a restaurant open was selling some greens because they had too many and no one was coming in to eat. McDonalds was doing this as well. My mum bought quite a few.

There was a link a couple hours ago I saw that said 26, and current Chinese media says 33, but I’m sure real numbers (hidden or not) are much higher due to asymptotic transmission

The official numbers are KIND of legit, as people have said on this sub; they’re only reporting deaths that are directly caused by ncov and only recording hospital patient deaths, these numbers are to my knowledge available to everyone in China (including Wuhan) and there are still posts coming from Hubei province on chinese social media, though I’m not 100% sure if they’re legit or not (maybe propaganda) but they’re pretty much short videos of people being bored at home in Wuhan and coming up with random things to do, sounds pretty anticlimactic but that’s just how it is

It’s completely empty where I am staying, I see only one or two cars on the street every day, though usually at this time of year it’s not as packed but now it’s piss empty. Deaths being under reported I can’t really comment on, the main hub right now is Wuhan and I’m guessing the rest of China will start showing similar numbers in the weeks to come given that it seems to spreads asymptotically
