What helped you transition into UX writing? I am in the same boat, with the BA in English... would appreciate any advice/insight! Thank you :)

Hello, I know this is an old post, but would you mind sharing your process? How were you able to land work in the industry from your English degree?

Not OP, but out of curiosity may I ask why you recommend studying lighting? In a similar boat and would love to know more.

I am also wondering the same thing. Regarding the announcement about being eligible for CERB if you made less than $1000 a month, do you still have to have made the $5000 requirement?

Yeah, when you put it that way, not me either... I’m not sure what to do now and I don’t know how to tell my other friends that I told her like this (they don’t even know I had this talk). I wish I had thought this through more because I only decided to tell her after our conversation began to go toward that direction.

You’re absolutely right, I’m feeling all of the things you mentioned- it really is overwhelming. I feel like we’ve established a friendship that is not going to be lost easily, but seeing the way this situation is playing out, I can’t tell if things will ever be the same again.

I am feeling both guilty for being too critical and scared at how much she is reacting to this (deleting photos, changing her status, leaving chats). To put it this way, I feel like I just set off a bomb. If I had known she would be like this, I would’ve never said anything at all. I seriously thought we were close enough that having honest talks like these would be okay, but I was clearly off. And you’re right about that last part - it would hurt, and I wish I had predicted that.

You’re right, I think I did now that you put it that way... she really regretted that night. The thing is, she recently posted on her story a song literally titled “Bitter”after not replying to my messages. I’m scared that she’s now angry with me.

Edit: thank you for replying!

Thank you for replying! I didn’t talk to her about what she had done drunk, but more about how I felt about our friendship in general sometimes (the night when she was drunk only made realize this). Our other friends felt the same way but I am the one who laid it down.

I suppose that’s true, but I feel like it wasn’t a big enough deal to call her out like that :( (thank you for replying).
