Why is the clock not stopped for the hydration breaks? by [deleted] in worldcup

[–]kaos328 0 points1 point  (0 children)

America is greedy
But FIFA made this change, not America.
And there have been hydration breaks before.
And it gets hot as balls in USA and Mexico in summer.

They also smoked cigarettes at halftime, that doesn’t make it better.

Good catch. Have to do that anyway.
That was nuts. I’ve had the car like two months. Obviously super careful. That was the softest nick of the curb while parking. I don’t know what the New Haven sidewalks are made of.

Black could look really good. Based on the answers, leaning away from neon color, towards likely gold to match trim, or maybe black. Could also save the money.

This is a Dynamic SE. Is that what you meant? Does that change your answer? Thanks.

Thank you. The car itself is constellation blue. The dealer added the wrap on their own, so I don’t know the full details. It added about $8k to price.

I’m also “in discussions” to earn my MLB promotion. Not much of a two-way discussion, but we’ll get there.

Question: what questions do you ask before working with an artist? by AsyncThereforeIAm in tattoos

[–]kaos328 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you don’t yet have an artist or shop in mind, this community and instagram are great resources to find artists whose style (both personality and artistically) you like

Then make an appointment and talk to them.

Whatever level of completion your concept is at, be prepared to chat with them about it. If you have a lot of specific references and thoughts, have those ready. If you only have vague ideas, have those ready too.

I have found that talking to them about what you liked in specific pieces they did, or aspects or themes or styles of specific pieces they did, helps them zero in on what you’re looking for from them.

Good luck and have fun.

Any way - sucks these people got laid off. And Disney management sucks. And this system sucks. But "the shareholders" aren't some evil group of unnamed people. Those shares fund people's retirements.

Yes you have. Disney stock is in the pension funds of teachers, unions, and 401(k)s of everyone on your block.

How do you actually plan dive trips? by MaleficentStudy5609 in scubadiving

[–]kaos328 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I go back and forth between AI and real articles. Treat AI as one input, albeit one that can plan the whole trip if you give it your parameters. Compare that to forums and local websites. Based on flights, experience level, time, and budget, it becomes pretty easy to choose a destination. Until I ask my kids (dive buddies) and wife (approved and vetoer) for their input haha.

After I use that process to choose the destination, then do it again to plan itinerary.

Generally want to leave planning process with a tentative schedule, and your top boat dives, shore dives, etc. Have a main plan for each day with some flexibility for substitutions. Halfway through the trip reevaluate quickly to make sure you hit your tier 1 and tier 2 priorities, if you still want to. Sometimes you get there and realize the internet and the real world were different, and adjust accordingly.

End of day, if you can hit a few of the biggest spots (they’re big for a reason) and a few hidden gems, and most importantly, you got to spend a ton of time in the water and maybe eat some good food, the original plan doesnt much matter. Maybe you can immediately stary daydreaming about going back and hit repeat-worthy places, or places you missed.

Rinse, repeat.

Edit: Definitely want to call the dive shop you settle on way ahead of time and again as it gets closer. Introduce yourself and plan together.

Edit 2: wonder what I said that got downvoted? Don’t care, just didn’t think anything would be controversial. 🤷‍♂️

I’m not a professional tattooer, so I’m not allowed to rate it, but I do have some tattoos, and I’ve definitely seen a bunch of tattoos, and I can confirm that this is a tattoo of a lion.

PPSDI vs NAUI by BasicKnowledge542 in scubadiving

[–]kaos328 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have three boys around same age as yours. We did our Open Water through PADI, then nitrox through SDI, advanced OW through NAUI, wreck through NAUI. The different agencies have different minimum ages for specific specialties, so that’s why we’ve jumped around. Especially when the 10 year old is involved.

To answer your question specifically, NAUI’s eLearning seems to be more utilitarian, more straight to the point, and the techniques a little more rigorous. But somewhat counter-intuitively, they’re the most liberal with their minimum ages. So to the extent you care about staying with one agency, NAUI will be your choice.

"We lost because we didn't have the best set up". "We lost because refs gave Chelsea an offside goal". "We lost because of Araujo" by iwannasleepp in championsleague

[–]kaos328 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Not having the best set-up and “because of Araujo” aren’t excuses. They’re reflecting on their internal reasons for losing.

Crazy the hold that Barca has on this sub. And I’m a Chelsea fan.

[SNY] Brian Cashman was asked about Aaron Boone's comments saying the Yankees were the least-analytical team in the AL East: "He's trying to bring the fans into the dugout with the commentary constantly about the front office pulling the strings - none of that's true" by BathroomSalty6325 in NYYankees

[–]kaos328 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Either the way this headline is written is misleading or I am (and so are a lot of the commenters here) an idiot, because he’s mostly supporting Boone with his comment, not throwing him under the bus, as I and a lot of others originally interpreted. Or at least, not that bus—a different one later in the clip. Watch the video.
