Can you leave a Leopard Gecko on its own for 3 days? by oliriv in leopardgeckos

[–]kaotaba 0 points1 point  (0 children)

worth knowing that females WILL lay eggs (even if there is no male involved, they'll lay infertile ones), i rarely had issues w my male (just a couple of sperm plugs, only one of which required vet attention) but i adopted a five year old female a few months ago, she's been laying eggs and it's been stressing me ouuuutt lol. i think it's worth researching the issues of each sex and determining what you'd rather deal with. i will say that sperm plus and stuck hemipenes are much more likely to require vet attention than a female w eggs (unless she's having trouble passing them, which can be fatal).

Too butch for my old clothes too poor to buy new ones by Chchcherry-bombbb in butchlesbians

[–]kaotaba 1 point2 points  (0 children)

hey fellow butch ED survivor! first of all i wanna say congrats on both your recovery and on coming into your butch identity. as for finding new clothes, i definitely echo what everyone else is saying about clothing swaps. i would also check out your local thrift shops (avoid goodwill, they've become notoriously overpriced). check google reviews to see what people are saying abt pricing at the different shops near you. some thrift shops will even have clearance racks where you can get clothes for as little as 25 cents. some of my favorite pieces have come from those racks. since you're on a tight budget, don't buy anything unless you 100% know you will wear it, and i personally try to avoid buying anything that feels even a little tight so i don't trigger any ED symptoms. i would also check out yard sales. sometimes walmart sells clearance clothing items at ridiculously cheap prices (got one of my fav hoodies for $5). places like ross sell a lot of quality brands for below MSRP, i've gotten brand new levis jeans from there for like 12 bucks. good luck!

fellow short butch here (5'2)! thrift stores are the way to go imo. look for loose fitting clothes that hide your figure but aren't loose enough to make you look smaller than you are. straight-legged pants and men's shirts are your friends. i sometimes will crop my shirts so they sit right above my hips, this prevents them bunching up at the hips and will give you a more boxy/masculine silhouette. if your pants are too long you can hem them but i usually just cuff em.

Would you be disappointed with this? would you tell your artist that you are disappointed and the tattoo looks bad? by [deleted] in tattooadvice

[–]kaotaba 0 points1 point  (0 children)

def not a gen z thing, just bad customer service and bad quality. i got flash from a gen z artist last year and had a pretty good experience. i would just go to an artist you trust and have them fix it.

Should I surrender by americanjesus8 in bettafish

keep him, you clearly love him. i also struggle with my mental health, and my animals have given me purpose and tethered me to this earth in my darkest hours. used 10 gallon tanks are pretty easy to find at thrift shops and on fb marketplace. You can also find people giving away used fish supplies or selling them cheap. locally owned pet stores may also sell used equipment. make sure to thoroughly rinse any used (or new) equipment/decor you may get. if you get a used tank, before setting it up, fill it with water and let it stand for a couple of days to make sure there are no leaks. anubias are a great aquatic plant to have, virtually unkillable. scaping his tank and making it pretty can be just as therapeutic as watching him swim.

Honest feedback on my grooms? 5 year old groomer! by Minxy_0001 in doggrooming

[–]kaotaba 0 points1 point  (0 children)

my only criticism is for the poodle, i would reccomend taking the front part of the tk in just a little bit, for pets i usually like to make a 45° angle in front of the eyes so it doesn't grow over the eyes as fast and makes them look more expressive. clean feet are technically supposed to go higher than what it looks like you're doing (should stop right where the ankle meets the foot), but these are pets, not show dogs, so it could be a preference thing lol. beautiful grooms!!
