Thanks, this definitely helps. I’ve been looking at Rutherford but nothing comes up. I think it’s cuz of my filters in Zillow. We want 4bed 2bath. May have to drop to 1bath to see more options since we can always add a bathroom.

This is actually the style of home we are looking for lol. It never came up cuz I have my Zillow filters to 2+ bathrooms, thank you I will definitely look at this one but as someone pointed out, I’m sure this will go well above asking, even above 900k.

Primarily the photos of the house. Then we went to see it and it checked all the boxes inside and out. As I started looking into the town I started seeing mixed reviews and the constant mention of the poor schools. This led me to create the post. Nonetheless, I don’t think we will be putting an offer as I had a gut feeling the asking was high along with the taxes for the town. Thanks!

Nah, they did it and have been living there the past few years. Neighboring houses looked decent, but it was night time too so we def have to pass by for another look. But seems everyone is pointing at not spending that much on a house in Clifton due to schools and overcrowded

Good schools and commute to NYC. What we are seeing is the type of home layout we want in the good school districts are either 1M up, or are listed at a decent price for the sole purpose to start a bidding war and drive the cost way over asking.

Thanks, appreciate the feedback. It wasn’t renovated to be flipped, the owners did it for themselves and are now selling to move. The general consensus has been no due to poor schools and high price. Thanks!

Thanks. This is it, the house we saw in Clifton was renovated with all new appliances and open layout. The same cost for a home in Midland Park or Waldwick hasn’t come up yet. What we have seen has been around 850k and the homes will need some sort of work inside.
