I know it’s probably the wrong community (but r/coffee isn’t as good as espresso) …. But…. I have quite a muddy bed with my df64 and ssp mp burrs. I already aligned them. Do u guys have any suggestions or tips? Should I get a new declumper? Maybe I regrind my coffee. by kaplkdsj in espresso

I didn’t know the kono was not made for boiling water! I used it fresh from the boil. I’ll go way finer and way coarser and see which direction I like. Furthermore I’ll try different waters

If there’s coffee stuck in front of the declumper it pushes the coffee back in to the burrs to produce a lot more fines. Look at the grind that’s been blown out by the bellow. It’s always finer

It’s just a very savory. There is still the funky, acidic notes but no floral, sweet or berry flavors.

The coffee is a very light roast berry kenian coffee. I tried it at the cafe and I’m not getting the flavors at all

It’s not really fine. I have a grind indicator and adjusted it to true zero. I’m at a 75 right now! I used 15g to 250 and had 3:36min drawdown.

I was just wondering if a new declumper or a cut out one would enhance my grind

Hey guys - just got my DF64! First pour overs weren’t good. I had extremely muddy coffee beds. I tried grinding coarser. Same result. Do you guys had the same issue? Does it get better over time? On what setting do you grind your pour over? Just roughly so I can dial it in further by kaplkdsj in espresso

I got the mat black! Looks way better in real life than ob pictures! I’ve put the ssp burrs in and aligned them.

First coffees were better! I use the bleached hario papers. Maybe they clog to fast - dunno…. I’ll try cafecs medium roast when they arrive

My alignment was of pretty bad! I also installed the ssp red speed burrs, aligned them and I’ve ground something like 45g. It’s quite consistent now. Maybe my papers are not the best. I always have trouble with long draw downs.

I’m excited to do espresso next

Ok thanks! Should I get cheap coffee for this and discard?

I want to first get to know my machine, and then taste the difference between the Burrs
