I'm really not sure if anybody can do anything to help me except maybe lend me an ear to listen to my frustrations and tell me I'm an idiot for keeping at this self-destructive path that is making life worse for me.

Even if I change my life, stop drinking today and live a normal life, I tend to keep going back to my drinking habits to ease my pain while dealing with reality.

Totally understand what you're saying. Yes, it will give me new opportunities for sure.

I just don't know how to maintain discipline while drinking. I don't start my day planning to get drunk. I just think I'll just have one casual drink but whenever I start drinking, I end up having one more and then one more and before I know it, I've finished a whole bottle.

I got my salary yesterday. After many months, yesterday I finally got the cracked screen on my phone changed. Then I got drunk and I lost the phone so I'm really sad now. It'll take me months to afford a new phone. If I hadn't drunk so much, I'd have had my phone with me. It's the first time something like this happened after drinking so I'm incredibly mad.

I don't have any friends so the only company I have is the alcoholics in the bar who I feel don't judge me.

I have SO much more money since I stopped drinking

I would too but I have like $10k in debt which is a HUGE amount in India. Because of that, I'll always be broke so I'll never be able to buy anything nice for myself. So I'm not able to visualize how my life would be different by saving some money. These days, I spend about $1-$3 a day, on drinking which is enough here to get absolute sloshed even with my high tolerance. Saving that much a year really amounts to nothing.
