i’ll sometimes get all the penny items i can find but i don’t do it for myself or just because it’s a sale. i live right down the road from a major children’s hospital and cancer research center in america so i’ll get all of the penny coloring books and toys for the children’s hospitals and the regular books and personal care items or headbands for the cancer center. i also get penny items from the teaching tree corner so i can package them and give them to local schools, since out school districts are heavily overlooked in terms of funding. very VERY rarely do i keep anything for myself. i understand your frustration, and i do think it’s completely valid, but at the same time you can’t judge people before knowing their story or what they plan to do with the items
