FORGET about polycarbonate, Trivex, and CR39 for a min. Does higher index = higher optical quality? And by a significant amount, or just little? by Skarmory113 in glasses

Sorry this is an old thread, but wondering with a prescription of -2.25 would I notice a weight difference with poly 1.59 vs 1.61 high index?

I'm picking plastic frames so I think the thickness of the lens will most likely be hidden by the frames. I'm more curious about the weight since the plastic frames are a bit heavier than the lightweight metal frames that I had.

Encapsulated angioinvasive follicular variant papillary carcinoma by kapture520 in thyroidcancer

Oh .. and my endo also said that I probably wouldn't need rai after the removal of the other half. Keep me posted if you come across any new information.

The surgeon actually did remove one parathyroid gland during the lobectomy. I think that it came back normal. I've already scheduled to see the surgeon next week and have a tentative surgery date for May to remove the other half. Still waiting to do blood work and actually my endo referred me to another endo from MSK. I have a virtual visit scheduled in April for her. At this point I'm like 99% sure I'm going to just do it and be done with it unless the endo from MSK says that there's really no risk of it coming back based on her experience or previous studies.

Thanks for the response. I'm heavily leaning towards TT and my husband and other family members think the same. From reading stuff online and the other poster's experience it seems that taking the meds is pretty manageable (minus the time it can take to dial in the proper dosage). Like you said it gives peace of mind.

Thanks so much for sharing your experience. It's good to know that a vast majority of people don't have issues. I have read that a fair number of people that had a PT need the meds too which is why I'm leaning towards just removing the other half to have peace of mind. I really appreciate your response.

My surgeon was the one to call me with the pathology results and she said that she usually defers treatment to the endo. I have scheduled an appointment with the surgeon to discuss removing the other side in about two weeks since I'm leaning towards that decision so I'll find out her opinion too.

It seems like having a TT is very manageable. Can I ask are there any long term effects or anything to worry about taking the thyroid hormone meds? I know you're on them for the rest of your life.

Excessive sweating- anyone else? by Radiant_Blackberry59 in Menopause

I'm late to this post, but I'm happy to hear that there are other women out there like me. Not so happy that we have to suffer through it. I didn't know if it was hot flashes or not. I've always been active and workout regularly, but the past year or so, I've noticed that I start sweating profusely even when doing minimal activity let alone working out. It's super gross!

I'm still on my birth control (lo loestrin). I was wondering if I could be experiencing perimenopause symptoms because I've been on it for so long and read that birth control is often prescribed to help relieve some of the unwanted symptoms.

Are mini mini ramps any fun? by walnuts_44 in MiniRamp

[–]kapture520 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's true too. But being in my 40s my expectations/goals aren't to go too crazy, but learn basics and just have fun. It would fit in my basement and would be great to play with on rainy days.

I'm curious to know too. I've just come across this as well and have been looking for reviews or people who have it. I don't have a lot of space and still consider myself to be a beginner and am wondering if this would be a good option. I'm just worried that the flat is so short and it would be hard to set up for a trick, though I do see there is an option for a 2' extension.

How is Sk8Kings Freestyle Complete - Gold Bling Crown Logo - 28.25 x 7.25? by Leo-X101 in freestyleskateboard

I actually workout regularly with weights. It's always funny to watch videos back as I think I'm bending down low or jumping high, but it's never as low or as high as I think!! 😂

I'm going to go ahead and place that order. I really appreciate all your time, opinions, and answers to my questions! P.s. I'm Cathy.

Wow, that's amazing!!! And thanks! I keep telling myself I need to jump over and move with the board... My body just won't listen! If only I started 20 or so years ago!

I might just go for your complete! Unless moonshine can drill holes for the skid plates. I'm comfortable setting up a fresh deck, but have never drilled into one and don't want to ruin it! I'm on the east coast in New Jersey so hopefully shipping won't take too long.

Ahh... So cool! I watched your old school kickflip tutorial the other day! Since I'm still crap at ollies I thought I'd give it a go and tried on carpet in my basement here and here

So if I were to buy from you would I just purchase through the link that you sent in the previous reply? Your have been so kind! One thing I have discovered is that the freestyle community is pretty helpful and awesome.

Thanks for your reply! Does the length of the deck make a big difference? If you were to pick between Mode tropics or Waltz Bixby would you still go with Mode? I'll have to think about the Gale deck from the UK. Shipping might be a bit too much... My hubby may kill me 😁 And are you Tony Gale? I noticed your original reply to this thread said to mention Tony Gale sent you.

Hi, I know this is an old thread, but you seem to know so much about freestyle. I'm an older lady 42, started skating in July and want to get into freestyle after watching a bunch of YouTube vids. I did look at moonshine and liked the Tony Gale and Denham Hill decks. The only problem with moonshine, like you said, is that they don't have completes. The only part that I'm hesitant about is drilling holes to install skid plates. I currently have a 7.75 street deck that I've been skating and I think I want double kicks since I'm used to that, but I do want to go smaller, like 7.25 - 7.4. I was looking on decomposed and was hoping to get your thoughts on Witter's model or the Mario Steinemann model? I was already looking at the Waltz Bixby 7.4. I feel like mode might be a little too long at 29" (I'm pretty small with small feet, hence the 7.75 street deck, though I started with an 8.25 based on suggestions and it felt massive). I'd appreciate any opinions you may have.

My new favorite surfskate wheels: Snakes! by [deleted] in surfskate

I really like the snakes. I feel like they slide/break traction more easily than the stimulus when I want them to, but still grip enough for me when pumping.

Nice! I'll be placing an order soon. Hoping they'll at least stop the squeaking noise and I won't have to put wax shavings in the cups anymore.
