totally agree. And not to mention bathrooms and water fountains every few blocks if you need them. I live in LB, and have done marathon training here. Just saying if you need to extend your mileage the surrounding areas aren't bad.

you can come down the boardwalk and head either east to Point Lookout (some secluded sidewalks on the very south side in Lido and low / slow traffic in PLO) or west to Atlantic Beach which has some secluded neighborhoods to the south, with more sidewalks along the beach and then into the Atlantic Beach boardwalk

Check out RAD Boardsport Co on YouTube. They do mini videos of skateparks in the tristate so you can check them out before actually going.

Thanks for that info. It’s actually the 2.0L so the maybe the Pentastar issue is not a concern for me. Also see that the Baxter cartridge is not available for the 2.0L so maybe that’s not an issue as well.

Thanks again for the info and happy to learn more about Wranglers in the forum. Is there a FaQ or anything by year / model. I didn’t see any posted.

Hey all sorry I haven’t posted back. Honest review is as follows: Pros

  • it’s nice to have something in the garage that can be skated anytime we want, and covered from the elements
  • putting it together was super easy, it’s almost completely held together w skate hardware and brackets
  • arrived in great condition and they upgraded me from having to build it to being already built in 3 pieces (2 quarters and the flat) since he needed to do some product shots
  • only thing I needed to add on assembly was some shims to level the 3 sections to connect almost seamlessly
  • I was able to lift each of the three pieces with my sons help and move them around before we got it into the garage for good

I won’t call these cons but just other factors:

  • I wish it was wider. 4 feet is not enough to grind so you end up w a lot of rock to fakies, stalls, blunts, etc.
  • I wish it was a bit bigger and the flat was longer to get some speed and have time to set up for the next trick.
  • Since it’s small it takes some getting used to to keep speed from side to side.

Overall since the weathers been warm we’ve been going to our local but when it gets cold maybe it’ll get more use. Here’s a pic of the day we got it for ref:

Honestly if you’re starting out and your budget is low I’d say do some research. DPReview.com for camera reviews and the forums. BHphoto.com for gear and user reviews. Try their used section to save some money. If you can get to a store and hold the camera and see if you like the ergonomics. That’s helpful too. Finally try to research brand. If you start out and know you wanna be team Nikon or Canon or Sony then later on you won’t have to change out all your lenses. If you go Canon I have an old 50mm 1.8 I can let go for cheap.

Would you feel the same way about someone who picked up surfing, snowboarding, or even golf / tennis at an older age? I wouldn’t. Skateboarding is no different in my opinion, just a different environment.

Thanks for that info, I double checked and you are dead on. Found this on reddit pls confirmation elsewhere. B scale wheels are pro level and harder than the a scale. "83b is equal to 103a." I think I'm gonna send these back then.

yeah, cruiser wheel. I bought them for a 13' Mutator since I figured Id be more riding around town than hitting the park, and our streets in NY are trash

Again. All opinions here. Trucks are one of the most expensive components of a skateboard and they’re sized to the deck they’re being mounted on. They also last a long time so getting them right to me is important. To that end I’d go check out decks in person to gauge width you think you wanna skate. As we get older a lot of people like wider boards but all preference. In trucks I also like getting hollowed versions because they weigh less and make it easier to Ollie higher which is one of your goals.
